You Need To Calm Down sucks. Too childish, but maybe that’s the point? I doubt, it but I dunno. Would hate this to take up space on the album, I hope it’s s throwaway “bonus” instead. I really do like ME! though. They're both pretty poor IMO. Taylor hasn't been on her game for a few years. Billie Eilish at 17 is coming out with more thoughtful pop lyrics than her: Can someone please explain who the fuck this Billie Eillish kid is? He has a dystopian name, and the few clips I tried to watch of him? Her? and I found it creepy as all fuck. So please, who tf is Billie Eilish?

And for making the charts her bitch.

So mentions of her are in sarcasm? Is she like the next Justin Bieber nonsense? No, she's actually pretty good. Her album is well worth a listen.

I’m not a fan but seems like Taylor Swift is really appealing to the lowest common denominator now with some pretty awful pop. Eilish is a godsend in the pop world - showing you can be catchy and smart at the same time. Heck, might even teach Coldplay a few lessons...

New Taylor Swift! Yayayayayayayaayaayay!!! the second verse capitalizing on her newfound identity as a lgbt ally comes across as pretty fucking shallow... and it's just a really bad song overall

Profiteering off of a movement one is not even a part of.
Classic.

I don't disagree with the message, but the song isn't that good.

Nice that those people at 3:06 decided to thrown their signs away, but if a homophobe is ever going to be converted as the result of hearing a pop song, this is not that pop song.

Tay-Tay's next single will be a cover of David Brent's scorching political-reggae song "Equality Street":

Reminds me of that time Phil Collins wrote a song about homelessness. Or Bono singing about refugees. All about jumping onto trends isn’t it - and you can tell how insincere these songs are because of the lack of lyrical depth to it.
I don’t know whether it’s me being too cynical but it seems these types of gimmicks are used to make the singer/artist seem ‘relevant’ rather than promoting any particular cause. When was the last ‘topical’ song to make you seriously think? Hip hop does it all the time, the old folk songs, but nothing in the pop world does anything... do they?

Easily her best song. Listening to this version for the first time, though....Stunning.

someone like Taylor Swift can get amazing songwriters who put her ahead in the US charts song after song, but someone like Liam fucking Gallagher only gets sub-par to bang average songwriters?
No, for real though. I do not understand why Liam Gallagher doesn’t have both better songwriters and a better backing band. Average.

Her songs have got worse since she gave more control to professional songwriters.
