I always kinda thought it was a rumor. Beetlebum has some undertones to it supposedly. Dating the woefully bland but self destructive Justine probably influenced his habits. Everyone was doing coke in the 90's and it surrounded the britpop scene so that is no surprise. He seems like he quit it kinda of easily so i don't know if he really was an avid user. Who knows? The Africa trips he took in the late 90's and early 00's was probably the turning point for him personally and creatively. You can tell he was dying to get away from all the crap and aftermath of the britpop scene. Sounds like he went of a spiritual journey over in Africa, and he seems he switched to just smoking a lot of ganja instead of all the serious stuff. |

But I do love Lonely Press Play and Heavy Seas of Love. Both are the brilliance that I expect from Damon Albarn.

You guys keep MISSING the point. It's not about Liam. It's comparing light, child like tunes and the fine line between them working or stumbling. Get off this Liam nonsense. If Noel wrote little james I'd have done the same comparison. However, unlike Noel, whenever someone on this forum makes a non positive Liam comment people get all sensitive. Looks like I'll have to REALLY be more selective whenever writing about Liam so feathers aren't ruffled. That's the way this forums gotta be I suppose. |
