and ppl moaning bout the setlist pls gimme a break, it is a festival...seem pretty legit to me they are not doing b sides and one or two oasis tunes won; t do any harm. Don' t see any problem with the lyrics sheets, Noel did it with TBWTL (if he had to use one)

I know, that you record in pieces, I had expirienced it myself, but with rehearsels etc. that would be no problem. He sang the whole DGSS tour and had no problem to remember the lyrics, although these songs were new and uncommon (not songs he had sung for a decade). Do you think, these guys have that much stress, that they can not rehearse some of their self written tunes from Oasis, without forgetting the lyrics? I mean its no 10 minute Pink Floyd kind of opera with that complex lyrics. It was quite recently that Liam was reading the lyrics for one of the major tunes. I wanna say it was for Back After The Break or Off At The Next Exit, but I can't remember. I know I commented somewhere amongst these many threads about it. And they were songs that were recently recorded and should have been properly rehearsed. I am as befuddled as you about that. It could just be that Liam has difficulty remembering lyrics. He has been known since the 90's to forget lyrics, replace lyrics with other words, or sometimes even skip entire sections of songs. Maybe all the drugs did something to his brain, I don't know. Edit: Found the session where he is reading lyrics. Apparently, it was even worse. Iz Rite was also being read. ok? so if there would be a teleprompter there would not be any problem and if they would rehearse more songs there would be noe problem too. I think we all can dream of Beady Eye playing a catalouge of 50 songs if bands like Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones etc. have no problem with it. I`m bored of the same setlists every gig.

I must say that they played the best version of Gimme Shelter. Such a waste that is just a cover Three big problems with Beady Eye: - they playing three covers (WTF?) - the same boring setlist all the time - Not enough pure rock songs like Eyeball Tickler (it's perfect song for BE) or Lord Don't Slow Me Down. In next album they should write more fast fucking rock n roll songs.

it´s good that the play mg and rnrs. because thats no be audience, it´s a festival audience. so each one song from the two big albums is clever i think. it makes it more fun for not-fans to listen to the other songs. people want to hear songs the know at festivals...

I hope that they drop those big anthems after the festival tour. some more psychedelic stuff would fit better for the smaller gigs. with BE they wanted psychedelic rock fired at the moon or something like that and I was begging for it! I think BE is not that far away, but songs like Rock n roll Star or Morning Glory, just doesn`t fit into this psychedelic set.

Do we know if any of Big Day Out will be pro-recorded? I'd be surprised if not.

I hope so. It's rare to see any of Liam's best performances pro shot. I mean of all the gigs this tour they had to pick T in the park to record when he was a bit of a mess.
The other guys are always great, so the quality of the bands performance is pretty much solely on how good Liam sounds and he's fucking good in these videos.

The point is a professional singer should not be using a teleprompt at all. So if he has to use one because of a difficulty with its crazy lyrics and fast pase, he'd proably just say "Fook it" and choose a different song. I can't think of any other reason why Beady Eye or Oasis never played it live at least once. It really isn't a bad song. It is very catchy and one could assume would be a banging song for a live set. As for the setlist, I agree. They really need to mix it up. We have heard RNRS, LF and MG way too many times. Gives us something fresh, or less heard from Oasis and in general, increase the amount of songs per show. An hour just doesn't cut it.

its a festival and the setlist looks pretty good. Strong Beady Eye tunes from both albums, 2 oasis classics from albums with big sales in Australia and one cover. (imo, the only track that missing is Start Anew)
btw, i d love to see them with different setlists in their own gigs but i suppose that we are not gonna see something like this from the Gallaghers (not in oasis and not now with Noel or Beady Eye)

Hey, USSA President/Comrade/Dear Leader/King Barrack Obama can't give a speech to his kingdom of fainting fan-sheep without a teleprompter. I'm just grateful Liam can read.

That's me in the pic next to him.
They were alright in Melbourne. Hard to get everyone into it to be honest, there wasn't a lot of dancing or bouncing ... or indeed that much singing along, even in the Oasis tunes. The Oasis tunes felt funny for me, even though it's technically most of the same people playing them, there was so much energy to be desired. Andy Bell is so stoic ... But largely they were really good, sounded great. Bring The Light with the new ending is cool as fuck.
