Beady Eye are everywhere in the last hours, in every site, blog, paper! and all the comments are very positive about them. Big Beady Eye day outthat tour definitely needs its own thread There was joy when Blur was announced for next year's Big Day Out line-up... and then widespread sadness when they pulled out. Oasis are dead and at the moment it looks like they’re never coming back (though we never say never anymore). Thankfully Beady Eye has come from the ashes of the legendary Britpop band, featuring Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock from that band as well as Kasabian member Jay Mehler. Their anthemic brand of rock’n’roll has won hearts all over the world in the past few years and now Big Day Out brings them out for their first ever Australian dates. themusic.com.au/news/all/2013/12/04/beady-eye-deftones-the-hives-join-big-day-out-2014/

Now this is great publicity for them. Why hasn't management been trying to land gigs like this before?

Andy and Gem are massive Arcade Fire fans. Liam probably thinks that an actual arcade is on fire.

Its not about the comments from users its more about the positive press and articles about them. (Who cares about 10 angry Blur fans anyway?)
Many people outside the UK dont know anything about Beady Eye. Big Day Out was a huge promo for them around the world.

They're finally touring here after bypassing Australia during the DGSS period. Liam said a couple of years ago that he'd like to soak up some sun at the Big Day Out so he's making good on that remark. It's also a slightly cheeky choice in light of Blur's departure from the bill.
I fear reception to Beady Eye will either be hostile or indifferent if comments on music forums and blogs thus far are anything to go by. At sideshows, a band has the comfort of knowing that their die hard fans are present to provide the necessary adulation. Not so at a music festival.
Beady Eye are in a curious position. Like BDO headliners Pearl Jam and (formerly) Blur, their core fan base are well into their thirties. Unlike Pearl Jam and Blur, Beady Eye have little to no profile in Australia. Yes, there are Oasis die hards like ourselves who've 'hung on' to see the side projects post 2009 but at a festival full of Generation Y folk under 25, I imagine the band will hold little appeal or significance.
I'm sure the enigma of Liam and his appearances in the Australian press over the last two decades will lure in some curious onlookers. However, I'm not sure the band have the tunes to wow a new audience. Their somewhat 'beige' stage presence might also baffle punters. They'll inevitably throw in some Oasis numbers to generate a bit of a buzz.
Nevertheless, it is a good opportunity for the band to punch out some banging shows and silence the naysayers. Liam needs to be at or near the top of his game too.
I would have liked a Beady Eye sideshow at The Palace Theatre or Billboard in Melbourne. Even though I'm not as big a fan of Beady Eye as I am of Noel (who I saw at the BDO and at his sideshow), I would definitely have gone to a Beady Eye gig. As it is, I can't justify the expense of a BDO ticket just to see Liam and co. I'm not a Pearl Jam fan and I don't know anything about Arcade Fire. I would really have liked to have seen Blur, not having caught them in 1997 in their heyday.

Many people outside the UK dont know anything about Beady Eye. Big Day Out was a huge promo for them around the world. More like HALF THOSE GOING. Beady Eye will probably get 4 people, the rest will be at Pearl Jam
