By "current", I mean those bands that are still active (so it rules out Oasis, The Smiths, etc).
Los Campesinos! Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Frank Turner Stars Japandroids Arctic Monkeys Taylor Swift Kasabian
Pretty much in that order. Too soon to add The 1975 to that list.

I'll make my list non-Gallagher brother related (to name but a few bands): - Radiohead - Arcade Fire - Coldplay - Tame Impala - Kasabian - The National - Deerhunter - Atoms For Peace - Wilco - Sigur Ros I would list groups like Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins but they are really past their prime at this point, although Pearl Jam still kicks some serious fucking ass as a live touring act. I highly recommend their gigs.

That said the others are top quality.

The Strokes have only gotten better with time, and Comedown Machine is fantastic. Coldplay Fleet Foxes Foo Fighters Red Hot Chili Peppers (although I didn't love I'm With You) Wolfmother First 3 Arctic Monkeys albums only My Bloody Valentine Gorillaz and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
This actually took a long time to make, I need to stop living in the past.

The Strokes have only gotten better with time, and Comedown Machine is fantastic. Better with time? They have had some very good songs on their last two albums but nothing they have done comes anywhere close to their first two albums. Currents bands/artists only Arcade Fire Radiohead Bruce Springsteen Fiona Apple Arctic Monkeys Noel Gallagher

They had to evolve their sound, and IMHO, a lot of songs on Is This It? and Room on Fire kinda sound the same. Don't get me wrong, there are still great songs on those albums, but I would never listen to them as a whole in one sitting, compared to Angles or Comedown Machine. But I can totally understand not liking it as much as their original stuff. I personally do not care for the Arctic Monkeys anymore.

That release was bloated, boring and extremely ordinary. Despite all that it does possess probably the best song the band ever recorded in "You Only Live Once". The debut is brilliant and their follow up is criminally underrated in my opinion. With their recent releases I only listen to a handful of tracks here and there. Sometimes it sounds like the band is forcing themselves to record together which doesn't always translate into interesting music.

Totally agree about First Impressions of Earth, it was a weird one, and I honestly don't listen to anything off of that except YOLO and razorblade. That's an interesting opinion on Room on Fire. I actually listen to it more than their debut, but it always seemed kind of ignored in favor of their first by media/people. I always thought there was a parallel with Is This It and Room on Fire, and the Arctic Monkeys first two albums, which explains why I prefer FWN over WPSIATWIN. Your last sentence I have to disagree with. For me, I would listen to the first two albums and love it, but get over it pretty quickly. But I feel there's a lot more to the newer records, especially Comedown Machine. I always feel like I'm hearing something new on every listen. And Slow Animals is one of their best songs in a long time.

And Slow Animals is one of their best songs in a long time. Perhaps I am assuming too much with my closing sentence. It is well documented after First Impressions of Earth the band took a much needed break, almost every member released a solo record or side band album. Julian and Albert also spoke many times of the bands friction between 2006 and 2010. When I hear stuff like that and incomplete albums being made, I see a band trying to force things. Again, just my opinion.
