For all the Jake Bugg fans, Zane Lowe will be playing his new single 'What doesn't kill you' on his Radio 1 slot tonight, can;t wait for this!
Album rumoured to be out mid November and 'Shangri-La' is the title I've heard!
Really glad he's for for a year gap between albums, really excited!

Thanks for the information.
I'm seeing him for the 3rd time in November again.

Cheers, going to listen now. He looks a little like Julian Casablances with that look and jacket in the pic.

Well, definitely not what I was expecting. Not that that is bad of course. But as his first album was so predominantly folky, I expected somethign more in that vein. But this is alright. I like it but will need more listens to give a better verdict for sure.

I guess it's taken whatever direction his management, record company and song writers have wanted him to go down.
I don't blame the lad he's young and obviously talented but it's been tarnished a bit for me

Can't say I like this, maybe it'll grow on me but I'm not desperate for that.

Heard it last night. I don't know if I like it or not, to be honest. His new album won't be similar to the first album.

Not really sure his voice is right for this type of music.

Went to see him in Birmingham the other night. Good set, but got a little bored during mid set. His newer single 'Slumville Sunrise' is much better and the track he did on Jools Holland 'Song About Love' is great. 'What Doesnt Kill You' sounds like The View.

Anyone seeing him live this week? Got a ticket for Dublin on Tuesday and will stay for Beady Eye on Thursday. Cannot wait!

Messed Up Kids is pretty good, reminds me a lot of the Born to Run material of Springsteen mixed with Tom Petty. There's a Beast and We All Feed it sounds pretty good. Nice song with the usual Jake Bugg Nashville Skyline influence.
I'm personally not getting what's special about A Song About Love just sounds like another bland country love song. It's the kind of stuff that gets made by Rascal Flatts that gets shoved out. Trying to show a lot of heart, but lacking it in my opinion. Really would have worked as a straight acoustic. I'd really like to like Slumville Sunrise, mainly because it reminds me of where I live, but for me it's okay. I actually think it would work much better as a straight acoustic with nothing else. I think it's another where there's too much behind it, too much of an emphasis to make it more of a band format (which so far is my main issue with his new album).

Some really good tracks on this new album. I think 'Messed Up Kid' is a classic

Listened to it a couple of times now and I must say I am impressed. Thought there would be alot more talk of him on the forum.

Really, REALLY good album, every track is great, don't get many albums like that! By his 3rd album, he's gonna be doing arena's and maybe smaller stadiums! I think he's mega and he's still only 19, TALENT!

Parts of Messed Up Kids's melody sounds a lot like Kasabian's Secret Alphabets, love it regardless!

Whats after happening with the new album? Has completely dwindled out of the charts it seems. Pity, I thought this was much better than his debut.
