Just as a follow up to the thread about how you got into Oasis, I wondered what the first Oasis single/album was that you bought?
Mine was a copy of Morning Glory on CD, to replace the copy my brother gave me. I'd played it so much it had just worn out and scratched.

Album - Be Here Now Single - Whatever (only single i felt the need to buy having bought DM,WTSMG,BHN but not long after i bought those box sets for all the singles off DM + WTSMG that looked like cigarette packets. One silver one gold. And was just blown away by how many great b-sides they had)

Dig Out Your Soul I got a buzz from it at the time though. I wouldn't say it's a bad album to be fair, it's probably not the one they would have wanted to end on though! The Shock of the Lightning is a great song I think, you can't help but turn up the volume when you hear it!

I still have fond memories for it compared to some people I guess and I suppose I will always have a bit of a soft spot for it but aside from that, the first 5 tracks and Falling Down are actually incredible so I always think it's a bit of a shame more effort wasn't put into it as it had the potential to be not too far the nineties albums with those tracks on it but I guess Noel's heart wasn't in it anymore and it feels a little hollow now when I listen to it now

The first on I 'bought' was Heathen Chemistry when I found it in a collectors shop when I was 11 or 12 (in with a load of Britney Spears shite), but I'd nicked the first 3 off my Mum long before then.

Yeh, I definitely think that Noel planned to split at some point on the DOYS cycle quite early and do his solo albums which is fair enough, but it is a shame that Oasis couldn't finish on a better album, especially as it started off so promising.

Album was Be Here Now, and only because I was just getting into Oasis (in 2011) and it was the first I found. Picked it up at a used shop. First new one I bought was Definitely Maybe I think. First single I bought was Lyla.

Definitely Maybe on cassette tape. Don't think I had a CD player until mid to late 1995. Remember those kids?

What's The Story Morning Glory at the ripe old age of 7.
I remember claiming to like Oasis despite never actually hearing them purely because of the hype around Morning Glory's release. That's how big they were, even gonky kids pretended to like them because it was cool to be a fan.
My cousin recorded it onto a cassette and I genuinely loved it, especially Morning Glory and Hello. I got the CD for Christmas 1995 and was buzzing for Be Here Now, despite being 9 years old.
I think I got Definitely Maybe after the Be Here Now hype died down and thought it was a bit crap, then rediscovered it around the time of Heathen Chemistry and never looked back, it's been my undisputed all time favourite album for the past 11 years.

I remember buying Be Here Now in a charity shop for £1 at one point about 3 years ago and never playing it. The first LP I got though was Giants and as a result I kept playing that quite a bit. The month before that at the record fair a guy was having a massive CD single clearout and got a huge bunch of oasis ones, mostly early days, and worked through those really. I played many of the B-Sides before even looking into the albums. From Giants I managed to get the deluxe DOYS vinyl cheaply and then Be Here Now, Heathen, Morning Glory etc. I did acquire the CDs in the meantime, and I remember not enjoying Definitely maybe the first time. I just eventually got it all one day. It was weird.
Okay, that was just a ramble, basically:
First Single: D'You Know What I Mean First Album: Giants
