It would be cool if he'd just put out the album this summer. I'm really tired of him acting like a Queen of England, talking about how slow and lazy he is and how he loves his sofa more than anything else. With all that Amorphous Androgynous situation it would be a good move for him to just release a solid piece of music as soon as it possible without press conferencing everybody for a year. I'd rather wait 10 years for a brilliant piece of work than a couple of years with an average album. Really?

So you'd rather listen to a load of mediocre to shit albums over a just one great one in the space of ten years? Cannot understand how anyone would want Noel to 'just release music' even if it was shit. Heathen Chemistry was released just two years after Standing on the Shoulders, but I never listened to it thinking 'well, at least they made this album relatively quickly'. I put it on the bottom shelf and try (but ultimately fail) to forget that abomination ever occurred.

And they don't turn out as singles or necessarily great songs. So I'm not sure the quality is dependent on the amount of time passed, but rather the initial idea and it's potential to be polished into something great. Look at some of the Oasis albums; sometimes they would take a ridiculous amounts of time to kick out and the quality would just be okay. And then you have WTSMG released quickly which was practically magical. Time just tells us the artists levels of motivation, dedication and laziness. In Noel's case, since 2012, he hasn't been motivated, dedicated and he's been relatively lazy. This isn't a slight to Noel, he's earned the break after his contribution to the music world since 1994.

To be honest Noel has and is raising a family. His boys are pretty young. I don't blame him for wanting to spend time with them and Sara. He should take his time honestly in terms of songwriting. I think fatherhood and being a full time parent might inspire him a bit. I know he's been a father since his marriage with Meg but this time might be a little different.

While you do make some points with this, it's not really fair to Noel to compare what he was doing at the beginning of his career with what he's doing now. He's pushing 50 now and that hunger he had when Oasis was in the midst of their first 2-3 records has been satiated dozens of time over at this point. It was also a far different situation when Oasis was bound by record contracts which were time dependent (Years + # of records) and they were nowhere near as comfortable financially as they are now + the fact that the entire music industry is almost night and day different compared to the 90s. Noel only has to please himself at this point. Also, you say something about "ridiculous amounts of time" in between Oasis releases. The longest wait was 3 years and some months, and that was DBTT to DOYS. That is not a long time for a band that has established themselves already this day in age espc when take touring into account which makes the cycle longer. In fact, its basically standard for bands that are considered "huge" which Oasis was from BHN to their break up. We'll be at 3 years in between Noel releases come October, and considering he toured that record fairly extensively its even less of a wait if you saw him. Look at the time in between releases for established big bands (at least 10 years in the spotlight) and you'll see this time frame is fairly average unless a band is prolific (Oasis was prolific from 94-97), but they all slow down as they get older. I agree with the previous poster that I'd much rather wait (regardless of time length) at this point until Noel is ready to put out something quality, then him forcing himself to do something just because he feels the need to put something out and it ends up not being any good or even average. He doesn't need to put something out for the sake of it or for the money. This is the time in his creative life where he can make music that pleases him before anyone else. People will always be interested in his music in some fashion at this point until the day he dies. His legacy is basically sealed, but tarnishing it is a lot more possible due to his age and because complacency can set in.

Yeah, the world is Noel's at the moment. He accomplished all his wildest dreams with Oasis, launched a successful solo career and seems to have a happy family life with Sara and his kids. I could see why he takes his time. Doesn't really need to press anything. He's playing with house money.

But i'm his fan and i'm saying go back to work Noel, kids can wait, you've got a world of music to save again ! Like in Spielberg's Hook if anyone ever watched. He needs to go back to Neverland.

Hopefully announcement is coming soon! Seems like the same release/ time format as the first album. I'd LOVE for an October or November release. Might be a tad wishful thinking though. I couldn't imagine Noel releasing it in January or February, a period in the music industry known as a wasteland of boring releases for the most part. It's either gonna be October/November or May/June.

Can't see him releasing anything until the Morning Glory and Be Here Now re-releases are gone and the dust has settled.

I wouldn't want HFB #2 to come out when MG comes out again but for BHN I could see it happening. Is it really gonna stop us or casual Oasis fans from picking HFB #2 and BHN? Probably not. I just hope and pray for new Noel music before the end of 2014. That would be perfect.

I think the morning glory and be here now remasters will all be released by the end of September... And it would be wise for Noel to release while theres still hype from the remasters.
