Well found. I wonder which of the existing demos/potential album tracks could be using the strings? Or perhaps it's a fresh song.

To give a faint idea of the timeline for the release of the album, Wired Strings were recording for NGHFB at the end of 2010 - the album not coming out until October 2011. Still, I imagine Noel will want to get his album out for the Christmas market, which is why I think the 20th anniversary Definitely Maybe release is being released in May and not at the end of August (as in '94 and '04), so as not to compete with Noel's release.

You know I was thinking about this the other day. Why is the DM reissue coming out in May when the album came out in August of 1994. Then it struck me, Noel wants it out of the way before he starts doing HFB #2 promotion. He could even use the DM press/interviews as the spring board for announcing HFB #2. In fact I bet that happens. Every interviewer will ask him that question. Slam dunk.

Now that's a nice find. Proof in the pudding with a shot of Noel too! I loved the strings on the last album. Good to see a return.

Well The Dying Of The Light could become like EOTR,but It could be a brand new song as well, who knows I just hope Noel doesn't over blow the production on a song like "The Dying of The Light". It needs to be more in vein of the soundcheck version we know. That is what was missing from the studio version of "If I Had A Gun".

I agree that If I Had A Gun was ballsed up but I actually thought it was a big improvement on the soundcheck. The Dying Of The Light could be the new Wonderwall (it really is that good), I can see it being Noel's biggest hit to date. it definitely needs to be produced right.

Next year? Wow! Is he going away from his usual timeline? Considering he's already recording strings, something that would really be done in the latter stages of recording once, and it seems like he's been recording for sometime....a year away sounds a little lengthy.

Well yeah but considering that the remastered versions of BHN and WTSMG are going to come out later this year it makes sense

It makes sense to release it next year. With three Oasis releases in 2014 there'll be no time for promoting a new Noel record.

Still, to be recording strings now for an album not due out for a year. That's seems to be extremely unusual for Noel.
I guess best case is late winter/spring of 2015

for the record, Brian Cannon's a great Facebook friend to have...
he accepts anyone's friend request, he posts lots of Oasis and non-Oasis things, and he interacts with people.
Thanks.

I guess best case is late winter/spring of 2015 I have a feeling that was unintended misdirection by Brian Cannon. I still believe HFB #2 will come out in November. January/February are dead zones for releasing LPs. I'm sure once Noel starts doing press for the reissues he will reveal his next albums expected arrival. I don't think Brian would want to spoil that.
