An Autumn 2014 release date gives time for the Definitely Maybe 20th anniversary promotion to die down too ;-)
I'm only half joking. I keep seeing people mentioning a 2015 MG release/tour on here but there's scope for an expanded DM too... the 10 year DVD was good with new interviews etc but there must be other unheard material in the vaults (demos, live tracks etc)...

I don't think they'll do another Definitely Maybe release just a year before the MG release. Particularly if Noel is hoping to have a solo release between them. I get the impression Noel is still involved in the Oasis business side. I think they'll space them more than that. Maybe another DM release at 25.

Oasis, 2034 Definitely Maybe reunion tour. Liam pulls out of the gig due to old age, his yank bastard child who looks and sounds exactly like daddy did in 1994 steps in...the crowd explodes. Uncle Noelly is impressed, they go back into the studio and write the most critically acclaimed oasis album to date, history gets made.

Yeah unfortunately I think that's probably more likely. I'm still holding out for a non-album related rareities compilation at some point: BBC sessions etc. There's going to be well over a year until the next Noel / BDI release so there's time!

A friend of mine spoke to Phil Smith a couple of days ago. Confirming that Noel is in the studio and that the tour probably will start autumn 2014. I think Smith is just guessing the dates TBH

Hope it's a good 'un. If it has catchy tunes, it will sell - simple as that. I'm really hoping there's no plodding dad rock ala The Good Rebel on it. Melodic and poppy will do for me!

Don't know why people keep going on about a Morning Glory reunion. And why?
Performing those songs live, but way shittier than how they performed in the 90s, or new material from Noel? Easy choice.

Even as somebody who missed Oasis and would love to see them live one day...it would probably be pretty bad. I'd rather have new material from both Gallaghers, plus the chance to see both live...Noel's gig was amazing last year, better than most gigs from 2004 on that I've seen. I don't think that the autumn 2014 date is set in stone, but I was expecting something like this anyway - definitely nothing new in 2013, and as it has been said, the 2011 autumn release worked well.

As I've said earlier in this thread, now I've actually met Phil myself: Met Phil Smith at the pub (can't remember the name, but it was in the corner) in Kentish Town before the Happy Mondays gig at Forum last friday. He confirmed for me and my friends that Noel is in the studio and that the album will be released in autumn 2014. I asked him; "Will you be DJ-ing?" Phil answered; "I fucking hope so!" So I guess I'll see you all in Dublin autumn 2014!

And a song after ... I can do that with ipod... shuffle the songs once in a a while... I wish someone will explain the word DJing to me one day because to me it is just playing tunes of other & occasionally ruining them. And some ppl call this art...

Hopefully the setlist will be new (ie not the old one with a few new songs thrown in odd places)! Noel did mention often during the HFB tour that the next album tour, he will have even less Oasis song mixed in. Wants to rely mostly on his solo material, which for me was always the higlights of the set like Freaky Teeth, Stranded On The Wrong Beach, Everybody's On The Run, etc.

Do you guys think that they fact that he'll be recording in NYC says anything about whether Sardy is going to be the producer?
Sardy works in LA usually and Noel is obviously London based. Wonder why on earth they would both choose to record together away from their home bases?
I'm sure that Noel still likes him but he's recorded with him 3 times now. Maybe he's ready to try someone new? Since his success in 2011-2012 I am sure that a lot more offers have been extended his way. It's not like in 2010-2011 when he was avoiding letting anyone know that he was working on anything at all...even Sardy wasn't involved until after the bulk of the recording was finished.
