It had to happen...so here it goes:
FOTF > Everybody on the Run > FLW = 3 very good openers. SL > Dream On > Millionaire = honestly Soul Love kills the other 2 If I had a Gun > The Roller > Face in the Crowd Face in the Crowd is OK...better then Three Ring Circus...but not as good as Roller/ Gun Death of you and me > SBOTA > Beatles and Stones - easy winner Soon Come Tomorrow > Record Machine > WInd Up Dream - Soon is a CLASSIC song. Iz Rite > AKA Life > Bring the Light Iz Rite is such a summer toon. AKA is pretty good...matter of taste I'm Just Sayin > Kill for a Dream > Jesus Freaks = Easy Victory for Just Sayin...love this tune For Anyone > Don't Brother Me > Broken Arrow = Harder one... For Anyone by a nose Shine a Light > Beat Goes On > Wrong Beach Wigwam > Stop the Clocks > Ballroom Start Anew > Stop the Clocks > Morning Son(Compared the 3 closing tracks)
NOTE there are so many other songs on DGSS I had to drop them (Three Ring Circus/ Edge of the Noise)
First Places: HFB: 2 DGSS: 2 BE: 7
Second Places: HFB: 5 DGSS: 3 BE: 2
Top Two Places: HFB: 7 DGSS: 5 BE: 9
I have to say, forget about rating the songs. BE is such a treat for me. Its a mature record. Its a fresh record. It breaks the mold of Oasis for the first time by any of the former Oasis members. DGSS was a weak Oasis sounding record. HFBs was Oasis without balls and horid production. BE is something different...songs like Don't Brother Me, FOTF and Soon Come Tomorrow are really amazing and something Oasis would NEVER have recorded.
PEACE

I consider myself fairly intelligent, but I have difficulty processing your rate system, if that is even what it is.

I'm Just Saying > The Morning Son > WAL/SBAJF/IIHAG (can't pick a fave from NGHFB)
Dream On > Face The Crowd > Kill For A Dream for worst
SGOG > IABWAB > Can't judge BE bonus tracks yet
That is all I am doing

Soooo much negativity after the op!!! Why guys why??
This forum used to be a great place, now it's filled with children constantly making childish remarks. For fucks sake grow up!! (Rant over! Phew!!)
For what it's worth Jeff, great post. I agree with most of your ratings apart Shine a Light > Beat Goes On > Wrong Beach. I'd have Wrong Beach before Beat Goes On. I'd also have to say that Morning Son trumps STC. But nice idea all the same. I'd not thought of comparing the albums track by track like that.

Everybody on the Run > FOTF > FLW
SL > Dream On > Millionaire
If I had a Gun > The Roller > Face The Crowd
Death of you and me > SBOTA > Beatles and Stones
Soon Come Tomorrow > Record Machine > WInd Up Dream (only because RM was already old)
AKA Life > Iz Rite > Bring the Light
I'm Just Sayin > Jesus Freaks > Kill for a Dream
Broken Arrow > For Anyone > Don't Brother Me (FA and BA are both pretty terrible but at least FA isn't 7 minutes)
Shine a Light vs Beat Goes On vs Wrong Beach: all 3 very forgettable. Can't decide which one is worse. Wigwam > Stop the Clocks > Ballroom (only because STC is ancient)
ASGOG > Morning Son > Start Anew (all pretty good tracks tbh, threw in ASGOG there to fill up the track list)
NGHFB is the clear winner here, with BE finishing some distance behind while DGSS barely finished the race.
DGSS also had more fillers that we excluded. As for the b-sides and bonus tracks, I think It's actually a tie.
LTLSALOM, SAHITS, AATR, Freaky Teeth, TDOTL = ITBWAB, WOMR, SOTS, off at the next exit and back after the break.
I think those b-sides alone wouldve made an excellent Oasis record.

Well I don't skip anything on HFB. I will sometimes skip quite a bit of DGSS probably (7-8 tunes) an there are already 5 tunes that I could see myself skipping on BE (BF, SBOTA, IR, FTC, DBM)

Soldier Boys is worse than anything Beady Eye have released, and by some distance, but HFB was a better album than DGSS. Based on what I've heard so far I expect BE to be on a par at least with HFB once the dust settles.

This is a subjective thing,to me HFB is far better, there's only one song that I skip (Jesus freaks),for somebody BE is far better,BE IS NOT BETTER,BE is better for you

I'm really waiting for a few months to pass and check how many have really kept listening BE. The arrogance of Noel fans that no one could 'really' like a BE album. I'll let you know when I've seen the light, could be a while though.

It's a very subjective and easy way to compare the albums... Anyway it's a good way to make understand that BE is a good album... Maybe much better than we expected, and surely better than some critics would say... (why all this negativity???) The most of us are old Oasis fans, so I think it's not inportant to judge an album thinking if Noel is better than liam or viceversa but it would be fantastic that both Gallaghers release good music! So far i didn't like both first albums for so many but different rrasons... Now I really like BE, it's so close to what i want from a Gallagher! Anyway it's just my little opinion (written in a bad English - it would have been better to write in Italian Live forever

Phew!!) Sorry, I didn't mean to add to the negativity. This place just fries me out sometimes. Do we really need to compare these records in this completely arbitrary and meaningless way? And holy fuck, if I see another numerical rating that means fuck all my head is going to explode. Is this a maths forum? Or a music forum? Anyways, rant over. I'll go back to 'liking' and lurking.

I'm really waiting for a few months to pass and check how many have really kept listening BE. The arrogance of Noel fans that no one could 'really' like a BE album. I'll let you know when I've seen the light, could be a while though. I said myself that DGSS was the album I listened the most to, even more than the dull NGHFBs. But really, I don't understand the "hype". I don't understand the "best thing since BHN". The BE>DGSS>NGHFBs. They're pretty much the same level. A mere shadow of Oasis. BE is better album than the sum of its songs. Nice flow and coherent mood. But songs itself, in BE, are really really basic, melodies are not very clever, few hooks, too many generic singing, and song structures are somewhat amateurish (ok, not that bad, but I assume you get the point while you are listening to the songs). If an Oasis late b-side such as "Boy with the blues" were in "BE" it'd be automatically a major highlight, overshadowing most of the album. Which leads me to my wondering: I'm really waiting for a few months to pass and check how many will still claim that BE is among the best thing post BHN.

I really like BE, but even though it's still brand new I can't make myself believe it's better than NGHFB. Except for Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks (which is still an enjoyable song), there are no fillers or bad songs on HFB for me, and at least 4-5 top notch songs. Both Beady Eye albums have 2-3 really, really bad songs - SOTEOTN, Wind Up Dream, Beatles&Stones (others would say Millionaire or The Beat Goes On) on DGSS, at least Shine A Light, Second Bite and Face The Crowd on BE. I'd consider those 6 clearly inferior to Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks. The highlights on BE are definitely around the level of the better HFB songs - I'm Just Saying is pretty much what an Oasis lead single from album no.9 could have sounded like, Soon Come Tomorrow is different and beautiful, Flick of the Finger is a tune, and I really like Iz Rite and Ballroom Figured. The album still lacks the constant quality of HFB even though it's well done and overall enjoyable. Also, as usual, wait a few months or a year and people's reactions will have cooled down. I wouldn't expect too many people saying BE is the best 2000s Gallagher record by then - just like pretty much everyone agress that the Masterplan is better than The Beat Goes On.
Not bothering with song vs. song comparisons cause BE and HFB are pretty different and the whole system is extremely random - I'd say HFB is 8/10, BE 7/10 and DGSS 6/10 for me.

There still isn't a track that I want to skip. Even Jesus Freaks has it's redeeming qualities. It's still for me the strongest album that's been released by a Gallagher since 1995.
