I listened to it again yesterday and it still sounds great over 18 months later. There still isn't a track that I want to skip. Even Jesus Freaks has it's redeeming qualities. It's still for me the strongest album that's been released by a Gallagher since 1995. It's still the strongest Gallagher release since 1997. The only one I occasionally skip is What a Life. Been in my car on regular rotation since its release. I agree. Can't believe you WAL though, one of my favourite Oasis related songs ever.

8 years on and I'm still bitching when people do ratings and comparisons like this. For the last time, you can't accurately rate and compare albums this way as it relies only on the placement of tracks. Ugh. Just stop.

I like NGHFB much more than both DGSS and BE, despite average production. There are many songs in it which grab you at first listen and I think they will also stand the test of time. At least, I still listen to them very often.
That said, I like DGSS a lot. I remember when it came out most of the people here were very happy with it, so I do not know why now everybody seems to hate it. Production is also average, but there were many good songs in it, and almost none was awful, probably because they had a lot of unreleased songs accumulated through the years, and they could select the best ones
Regarding BE, production in some songs (FOTF, SL) is better than DGSS and NGHFB and elevates the songs to a new lvel. But at least half of the songs of the album are fillers and production does nothing for them (in the case of DBM, it even makes it worse). I am afraid in one year time nobody will listen to any of these songs except FOTF, SL and SaN, and DBM will be another "Little James": a song you find embarassing to listen to

for this kind of comparation we need someone whos completely neutral about the Gallagher bros. How about this comparison not happen. I remember when the talk was, no one should compare HFB's and DGSS's tracks because it was unfair and the two albums were so "different". But now that Beady Eye has an album somewhat better than DGSS, it's all of sudden okay. If people enjoy the album, then enjoy the album. If you think it's better than HFB's or DGSS then fair enough. But these type of comparisons make no sense, even with someone doing it who may be impartial. Personally, I think BE is a nice solid album. Will age better than DGSS. But I like HFB's more just because I could see myself skipping many of the outros on BE in time and some of the songs, but I like the strength of the songs on HFB's more. Music is meant to be compared, but not like this

Can't believe you WAL though, one of my favourite Oasis related songs ever. WAL is good, but I've never thought it was great. A few good lyrics, but they're a bit repetitive andI'm still not a fan of the "woo, who's" at the end. Good song, but not without it's flaws. There are better songs that album, which is why it's a very good album.

It was amazing to see how it went from just being another new song at the very first gig in the Olympia to being a set highlight by the end of the tour.

In fact, I was going to add "..not going to happen" but yeah Also, its good that you respect tastes...is boring when unenthusiastic people start spoiling the fun of a good release.

I don't really know how someone can compare every single song on all three albums, seems a bit much to me. NGHFB is a great album, probably one of my most played of last year. DGSS is good, not great because of a few filler songs like Beatles & Stones, Three Ring Circus and Standing On The Edge Of The Noise(although sometimes I really enjoy this song, weird). BE is still new, I love it but I don't know whether I love it more than the High Flying Birds album. Only time will tell I guess. If the songs don't get old even after a year then it'll be equal to Noel's album but it's way to soon to do a comparison of these albums at present. Oh yeah and for the record I love Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks!

NGHFB was a great disapointment for me...I was expecting magic and I just found M.O.R. folk pop with some good tunes (death of u and me, Everybody's on the run, dream on) and very very poor songs (If I had a gun, broken arrow, jesus freak...) all that with those horrible John Bon Jovi like videos... BE is far more interesting as far as I'm concerned. I now hope Noel's next will be mor creative and adventurous; For me, BE is much much better.

It was definitely a highlight live for me both times I saw it, especially at the Riv in Chicago At the RAH,the last time that they've played was brillant, probably the best version I absolutely love it,my fav after EOTR and IIHAG

Doing a song by song review/compare is useless unless you order the songs by quality and then compare. Still not very valid but a tad bit more id say...
Just sayin/ broken arrow. JS Soon come tommorow/ if I had a gun. IIHAG Fotf/ EOTr. EOTR Iz right/ WAL. IR Soul love/ TDOYAM. TDOYAM Ballroom figured/ Dream on. DO Face the croud/ RM. FTC Start anew/ wrong beach. WB Shine a light / STC. STC Dont brother me/ jesus freaks. DBM Second bite
6 to 4 for hfb for me... but you still would need to take into consideration the margin of victory for each to come to an uktimate conclusion.

I say it, and people continue to do this? Really? What the fuck.
I'm sure you could re-arrange DOYS' tracks to make it better than BHN or DBTT. Would that then make DOYS actually truly better? Of course not.
Fucking stupid and inaccurate and proves nothing.
This has to be the most stupid type of thread that comes up with every album release.
Just stop.

Well I don't skip anything on HFB. I will sometimes skip quite a bit of DGSS probably (7-8 tunes) an there are already 5 tunes that I could see myself skipping on BE (BF, SBOTA, IR, FTC, DBM) I listened to it again yesterday and it still sounds great over 18 months later. There still isn't a track that I want to skip. Even Jesus Freaks has it's redeeming qualities. It's still for me the strongest album that's been released by a Gallagher since 1995. Plastic Geordie - My faith in this forum has been restored...a very sensible post...I tip my hat to you. Good day. lol

I'm gonna compare with BE with Oasis' weakest album. Which is Heathen Chemistry. FOTF > The Hindu Times - really tough one this!

There are only Liam fanboys. There are no Noel-fanboys, you can't be a fanboy of a godlike transcendental force.
