Great round , beautiful to watch , but for tiger if its not done in a major it's pointless it seems , think he's to focused on 19 , which may be why he aint golfed like that at a major bin 5 years,, if he did that at any of the 3 so far he'd have 15 or 16 IMO .

Tiger was -9 through 13. He only needed 2 birdies in the last 5 holes to card a 59 but missed a few putts under 10 feet and botched the wedge into the par 5. Great par save on the last though.

He plays like that there is no talk of can he win 19 ya know ? I love jack , but would love to see history as well

Ash ... That may be his best in 5 years what do you think ? Definitely, but we all now he can still play golf better than anyone else at these regular tour events. The question about him is if he can putt well under pressure anymore...and today exactly didn't give me a lot of confidence. Sounds weird to say that Im disappointed with a course record tying 61, but it still felt like he folded down the stretch when the whole world tuned in to see if he could go sub-60.

You've said that before , that's a great point .. The game is so mental ... This happened to Tom Watson as well , he used to money inside 6 to 10 feet had 8 majors than got tTHE yips , never won another , but did win on regular events ... Hope he gets over it

Ash & Debris just heard a unreal statistic. On around the horn ( espn show ) check this ....on par 70 courses in majors which the PGA is tiger only has 2 majors .. Interesting

Yeah it's no secret that Tiger used to eat up the par 5s.
The guys weren't nearly as fit as they are now, Tiger used to be the longest player on tour (aside from John Daily), he would have a significant advantage on the par 5s and on courses that generally played longer.
But that's not really the case anymore, though he's still one of the longest players on your, but length isn't really a significant advantage for him like it used to be thanks to technology advances and physical regimens, all players are pretty long now.
I have very little doubt about his ball-striking, if he doesn't win, it'll be the putting that will let him down again.

^Tour*
The mobile version of this site really needs an edit function.
By the way, Tiger's group will be streamed live on pga.com tomorrow morning, he tees off before the tv coverage begins so if you wanna keep tab of Tiger that'll be your only source.
Edit: oh shit the edit function actually works now lol, good job.

Something is up with Vegas.... Believe me I know those hotels are there for a reason , there the sharpest handicappers of the sharp . It's my favorite place in world , no clocks , no rules., no bullshit..... So when they have tiger at 4-1 and Phil at 15 - 1. It's seems to easy ....

^Aren't the odds shaped by who the public are putting their money on?
I think a portion of the public are still stuck in Tiger's glory era and expect him to win every single major he plays in. Also doesn't help that he won just last week so the perception is that he should win again this week.
Tiger is off to a solid start. -2 at the turn,

Also doesn't help that he won just last week so the perception is that he should win again this week. Tiger is off to a solid start. -2 at the turn, Not really those odds are the so called " morning line". Like in horse racing ash ....the bookies in Vegas put out a number much like in football that they feel will attract the most action ...then as the week progresses and money comes in the odds are adjusted ...but your wager ( unlike horse racing ) stays the same , so if you bet Phil at 15-1. That's your odds . The public money will determine how the numbers change For instance in pro football say you bet early and take the steelers giving 6 points , that's your number... But if the public then backs Pittsburgh and the bookies slash pints to 2 ,you still got the 6 points cause you got it in ..... Horse racing is different , you get what the final odds are unless you bet with a bookie or in Vegas called futures betting

Tiger missed a 3 feet putt and has been struggling since. Those short misses gets to his head at these majors.

He's -1, 3 holes left on the round for him. Leader at -5. Lots of big names (afternoon wave) yet to tee off.
