"At that time, we thought [Be Here Now] was fucking great. And I still think it's great. It just wasn't Morning Glory."

1. I Hope I Think I Know 2. D'You Know What I Mean? 3. Don't Go Away/All Around the World 5. Stand By Me 6. My Big Mouth 7. It's Getting Better (Man!!) 8. The Girl in the Dirty Shirt 9. Fade In-Out 10. Be Here Now 11. Magic Pie Good album, but the personal edit versions I have of some of these songs come in handy quite well. Like with It's Getting Better (Man!!), especially. UPDATE: 1. All Around the World 2. D'You Know What I Mean? 3. Don't Go Away 4. I Hope I Think I Know 5. Stand By Me 6. My Big Mouth 7. It's Getting Better (Man!!) 8. The Girl in the Dirty Shirt 9. Be Here Now 10. Fade In-Out 11. Magic Pie UPDATE #2: 1. D'You Know What I Mean? - This really is the superior track of them all, and is incredible to listen to with headphones. 2. Don't Go Away - Such a beautiful ballad, and one of the few songs from this era to be treated delicately. Liam's vocal performance on this is almost heartbreaking, and the Bacharach-like horns and theatrical strings echo that well. 3. Stand By Me - I have a love for this song that will probably never die, considering it was the song that got me into Oasis. It's a bit too repetitive, but there is a pretty incredible atmosphere of swirling strings and guitars, with Liam's voice and Noel's harmonies front and center. Good tune. 4. All Around the World - The height of Oasis's triumph. There is so much going on, and I love how extravagantly upbeat it is. I just wish that the layers were a little more defined, instead of just a complete rush of loudness, but it's still fine as is. 5. My Big Mouth - Oasis at its second-most punk (1st being Bring it on Down). 30 guitar overdubs? Check. Liam channeling his inner Johnny Rotten with a sarcastic tone? Check. This and DYKWIM define the BHN era really well. 6. I Hope I Think I Know - I still like this one, but it's gone down in rating for me. Liam gives a great performance, but it is quite poppy. This one was destined to be a single, and it's a damn shame that it wasn't because it could've been a really good follow-up to DYKWIM, or even a good lead single. 7. The Girl in the Dirty Shirt - Easily the Don't Look Back in Anger of this era, and a pretty little tune, but like many of the other tracks from this era, it's hurt by some of the repetition it possesses. Nevertheless, Liam sounds good, Noel backs him up well, and those keys are glorious. God Bless Mike Rowe. 7 (tied). Fade In-Out: Badass song. I still don't know where Noel got this one from, but I'm glad he wrote it because it is something completely different than anything Oasis ever did before, and even after, until DOYS. It's a little long when you look at the length before listening to it, but once you do listen to it, the time flies and the 7 minute length feels just right. 9. It's Getting Better (Man!!) - I really do like this tune, the solo is one of the best on an Oasis song, but the outro kills it (and not in a good way). We could've EASILY done without the 32-or-so "It's getting better man!"s at the end, and instead had the cool guitar noodling by Noel, like the live version is like. 10. Be Here Now - This one has a cool groove to it, but unfortunately it's not well defined, besides one riff by Noel. It's good filler and serves a nice purpose to keep the album moving along well, plus it was a nice live opener, but there's nothing much else to it than that. Oh yea, and the toy piano lol 11. Magic Pie - Strong melody, and that's about where it ends. Some of the lines are pretty good, but when put together as one, it sounds like a mishmash of stuff. Not to mention, it is about 2 minutes too long, even though the interlude is pretty hypnotic and the outro is ridiculous.
