A lot harder than the Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory rankings as there aren't as there aren't as many out and out classics here.
1. Do You Know What I Mean? 2. Stand By Me 3. All Around The World 4. I Hope, I Think, I Know 5. Don't Go Away 6. My Big Mouth 7. The Girl In The Dirty Shirt 8. Be Here Now 9.It's Getting Better (Man!!) 10.Magic Pie 11. All Around The World (Reprise) 12. Fade In-Out
There's very little to choose between most of these, which highlights how consistent an album it is. A for Fade In-Out, I've always felt that it drags on a bit and doesn't really progress.

The Excellent songs.
1. D'You Know What I Mean? - the song that got me into them.
2. MBM - the sheer energy and buzz i get from listening to it, it f*cking rocks, i love it
3. IGBM - i just think its a great rock n roll tune to belt out. Love the outro, it goes on, that's what i love about BHN, it is so massive.
4. AATW - great song, and it just continues, and i love it, really hopeful lyrics, and the longer it goes on, the more i seem to like it.
5. Dont go away - beautiful song. Chilling vocal from liam.
6. I hope i think i know - i love the way Liam sings this, its just a quality rock n roll tune, the type the band were lacking after this album came out (bar DOYS)
7. Fade in out - it was awesome live, and on the album i like its kind of western cowboy sound (the intro), the scream onwards is epic. 8. Magic Pie - i actually like this song. Brilliant verses, the chorus is a bit anticlimactic, but i like the outro aswell.
9. Stand by me - i always found this one too repetitive and that it doesn't justify its 6 minute length (unlike the rest of BHN, which is repetitive, but its repetition of good songs, unlike SBM), it just feels bland to me.
10. be here now - i can never get over the Columbia outro. Its just an average rock song. That doesn't really rock as it should do.
11. TGITDS - i never got into this one. Just a bit middle of the road, in my eyes.
This is the first oasis album i had, so ill always have fond memories, of listening to every second of that album for the first time, and being blown away by how massive it sounded. I went and bought copies of DM and WTSMG, seconds after AATW reprise finished.

Good album, but the personal edit versions I have of some of these songs come in handy quite well. Like with It's Getting Better (Man!!), especially.

Done this before but it's such a great album I'm gonna do it again...
1. D'You Know What I Mean? My favourite Oasis song, nearly 8 minutes of epic, swaggering, overblown and totally genius rock. After the airplane has taken off, the morse code and backwards guitar have set the song up to blow you away then the endless layers of guitar riffs enter and are driven by White's industrial, tank-sized drum beat. The monstrous guitar solo explodes from nowhere and swallows everything in its path, the chorus is just big enough to embarrass the Burj Khalifa but not so big to sound like a Journey song, and the ice cold lyrics are spat out with contempt by a prime time Liam. And to top it all off, the video is cool as fuck. Mad. For. It.
2. All Around the World / Reprise This could no doubt be several months shorter - but why should it? This song is the sound of pure triumph, the end of 5 nobodies journey from the streets of Manchester to the top of the universe and from their lofty vantage point they can afford to blast out this 10 minute epic about absolutely nothing save their own greatness. Orchestras on steroids, never ending sheeeiiiinneessss and the creme de la creme of fuck-off choruses come together to end the 90s in style.
3. Don't Go Away A rare moment of vulnerability, as Liam's snarl is momentarily replaced by a yearning cry that rips through the music and your heart alike. Sentimental but gorgeous, the song gives the monster of Be Here Now a fittingly sized soul.
4. Stand By Me Again too long, but again too much fun for anyone to care. In danger of being trite - the song is saved amply by Liam's vocals, the hypnotic melody of the choruses/bridge and the ecstatic strings that swoop from underneath the guitars to deliver a vintage king-of-the-world Oasis moment.
5. I Hope, I Think, I Know The usually mid-tempo pace of the album is gladly picked up with the youthful rush of I Hope, I Think, I Know. The last remnants of the hungry power that fuelled Definitely Maybe, the happily 4-minute tune dares to suggest Oasis are not done running yet.
6. It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) This is where it gets tough. Out of the rest though it's the endless cocaine-powered guitar orgasm of It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) that comes out on top. Although the production is messy and the refrain thinks it's better than it is, the pure arrogance of snarling that you're still getting better 32 times over a manic, infinite guitar solo is so confidently ridiculous, so stupidly fun and effortlessly cool that it sums up Be Here Now like nothing else.
7. My Big Mouth This song is angry. This is the sound of 5 people who know they have everything but are demanding more. From the moment the drums attack your ears and an avalanche of guitars assault your ability to hear, you know the band aren't messing around. An epic guitar solo leads it's 36 (!) followers into battle, and they're so loud only the exaggerated vocals of Liam Gallagher can rise above them. Massive.
8. Fade In-Out They should have recorded the live version. What could have been an 8-minute rave for giants becomes a good if underwhelming 7-minute song of two halves. The first half is great - intense and forbidding, it lets you know something will happen - but makes sure you don't know what. Then the amazing scream comes and what follows is....well, a bit of a let down. Rather than the spiralling layers of psychedelic guitars you might have heard at a certain G-MEX in '97, you get a decent slide guitar solo and a chorus you've already heard repeated too many times. Good, but could have been a lot better.
9. Be Here Now Like the above, they should have recorded the live version. Whilst this is the kind of epic, nonsense piece of guitar swagger that Be Here Now lives on, it's impact - already dulled by the somewhat flat production - would hold more weight if your ears had not already been blown to pieces by the previous tracks. If listened to in the right circumstances, though, this song can still provide enough energy and arrogance to make you believe it deserves a place here.
10. The Girl in the Dirty Shirt There's nothing really wrong with this track. The melody is great, the lyrics decent, the vocals are as good as the rest and the production and length are just what's needed. However, it doesn't quite do anything either - it's not got the swagger of most of the album, it doesn't have the emotional depth of a Don't Go Away and it doesn't have the light hearted feel that redeemed similar efforts on previous albums like She's Electric or Digsy's Dinner. Best listened to individually, this is a nice tune that's hard to hate but even harder to love IMO.
11. Magic Pie What really hurts about this one isn't the stupid outro, the dog shit lyrics or the frankly subpar vocal performance from Noel. It isn't the needless length or dirgy production, and it isn't even the fact that Noel said it was a classic. It's that Stay Young was left off for this beatles-esque anti-cocaine advert.
Sorry if that was a bit long, but it is Be Here Now after all!

1. D'You Know What I Mean? (Epic) 2. Stand By Me (Bit long but a great song, should have been played live more) 3. Don't Go Away (Nice, tender song, I wish it was totally acoustic on the album) 4. All Around the World/Reprise (Long but Brilliant) 5. It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) (Powerful, not keen on end bit) 6. My Big Mouth (Rowdy, Liam's vocals are great)
7. The Girl In The Dirty Shirt (Nice Tune, On par with Digsy's Dinner for a joke track, nothing more) 8. Magic Pie (Love the verses but chorus is terrible, I wish Going Nowhere was on instead) 9. Be Here Now (Annoyingly Catchy) 10. I Hope, I Think, I Know (Good Verses, Not so good Chrous)
11. Fade In/Out (Boring)
Even though it's my third favourite album, I still feel it was lazily produced with some poor tunes on it. 1-6 I think are very good, equalling the standard of the two albums before it (With better production). However, 7-11 all seem like throwaway tunes. I would like to have seen some Morning Glory B-Sides kept for it, but overall, an album of overblown brilliance!

Fade In-Out 7/10As a collection of songs to be dipped into at your will... 10/10 As an album to be listened to in one go... 6.5/10 - more than the length, it's the production that really irks me. Listened to I Hope, I Think, I Know through a damn good set of headphones the other day, and for the entirety of the song, there's this horrible hiss down the right channel. Not to mention the mushy guitars on Gettin' Better (Man!!)...almost ruins the first three-and-a-half minutes of the song for me. I NEED this remaster, and I need it to be a professional job. No cutting corners and just turning the volume up, give us the album the world needed back in 97!

1 Stay Young 2 Stand by me 3 I hope I think I know 4 Don't go away 5 Fade in-out 6 All around the world 7 Going Nowhere 8 The girl in the dirty shirt 9 My Big Mouth 10 D'you know what I mean
The album title is great, maybe the best of an Oasis album and I keep it but the self titled song is not good enough to stay within it.

I really like the above tracks. Very interchangeable after the top 2. 9. Let's do some cocaine (MAN!!!) 10. Be Here Now 11. Reprise
9-11 are bloody mediocre. 11 is a pisstake. But the album is packed with great tracks. Replace 9 and 10 with Stay Young/Going Nowhere and remove reprise. I reckon you've got something to stand alongside its predecessors!
edit: oh yeah, and Magic Pie's on the album too
