Great! An assignment. I love giving out homework. - How To Disappear Completely - You & Whose Army? - There There - Reckoner - Videotape If you like fast rocking Radiohead songs try Bodysnatchers, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, 2 + 2 = 5 and Morning Mr Magpie. alright, How To Disappear Completely and The National Anthem were the songs i liked on Kid A..... i'll give the others a go. thanks. God bless. And of course there is the truly beautiful song "True Love Waits" off the Live Recordings EP. No studio version has ever been released but the band claims to have recorded it 400 times between Ok Computer and Kid A. No versions ever sat right for them. Now it lives on as a live performance much like Neil Young's "Hey Hey My My" (all versions).

Definitely Maybe > Pablo Honey Morning Glory > The Bends Ok Computer > Be Here Now The Masterplan > Any Radiohead b-side Familiar to Millions = Live Recordings Kid A > Standing... Amnisiac = Heathen Chemistry Don't Believe The Truth > Hail To The Thief In Rainbows > Dig Out Your Soul B-sides such as Trickster, Killer Cars, Talk Show Host, Palo Alto, Fog, Cuttooth and Gagging Order rival some material on The Masterplan.

House of Cards is my favorite song from them, what a beautiful tune "Throw your keys in the bowl Kiss your husband goodnight" This tune could be the Don Draper theme song.

I thought their last album was great... Separator, Codex, up there with my favorites. And yeah, they do have good b-sides. edit; favorite Radiohead songs. Not all-time favorites, haha. I don't know why I felt the need to clarify that.

Jigsaw Falling Into Place is literally one of my favorite Radiohead songs ever (perfectly shows how Radiohead builds their songs) and I believe OK Computer is the best album of the 90's. In Rainbows is an amazing album, especially House of Cards. And the Bends comes close to rivaling WTSMG.
The rare combination of critical and commercial success. And as much as people complain about their music being distant, at times their songwriting is not too far away from Noel's. Brilliant live band. Was just on the train this morning on the way to school listening to Fake Plastic Trees and wishing they would release another album as quickly as possible.

I heard they might start working on (or release?) a new album near the end of this year, but I don't know if that's true or not. What did you think of the Atoms for Peace album?

It seems Mr Yorke does not rhyme too much and as such- words in topics he talks about seems a little less clever, but it does make you stroke your chin a lot leaving you "hmmmmmm"?.On the other hand Noel has slick Rhymes that tie in with his lyrics -that make you take heed. For me it's much harder to think of a rhyme in the 2nd line that goes together with the last line, then to know of a subject and turning into a song, writing it in a coded/forward manner devoided of limericks.

From a transcript of an untransmitted Oasis documentary, published in MOJO December 1997:
NOEL: Is there anyone around I find threatening to Oasis? No. Travis are OK. Embrace might be all right if their vocalist starts getting some singing lessons. It's good to see The Verve returning. Radiohead are all right. They could do with speeding up some of their songs but I love the music and the sound of their records. Yeah, if Oasis and Radiohead are the world's two most important bands, that'll do me. But the likes of REM and U2 went out on two and three year-long world tours and I don't think our band is really cut out for that anymore. I certainly can't be bothered. If it was down to me I'd just go on making records. I'd never tour again.
THOM YORKE (Radiohead singer): I've got a lot of respect for them, really. To have that much balls-it's amazing. I don't know how they do it, I haven't a fuckin' clue. I can't do it. But I also think I have a problem with the rock 'n' roll myth thing. To me, it's fucking bullshit. But they won't get caught in it because Noel's too smart. I hope he's too smart, 'cos it's daft. (MOJO #49, p. 90)

Radiohead are shocking, really are. The best thing they ever did was Creep and since then they've got worse and worse, and the worse they get the more popular they seem to become.
Thom Yorke looks like a fucking science teacher as well, just don't see the appeal at all, never will.

God bless.

i'd like to point out for the record that i like the songs mentioned above that i've listened to thus far - particularly There There and Jigsaw Falling Into Place, both could easily fit on Ok Computer....particularly There There.
God bless.

Pretty much their whole second album was better than Creep, don't even try pulling that one. OK Computer and Kid A can sorta alienate people (read: me), but discrediting their whole body of work makes you seem pretty ignorant - I find them vastly overrated but will admit that they do make some brilliant songs.

Atoms For Peace's AMOK is one of my favorite albums of 2013 so far. The songs are so well crafted. A great headphone album. Many of the songs I could have seen on King of Limbs. I recommend picking it up. BTW...............you are right. The song Separator is phenomenal. Might be the best song on that album along with Bloom.

Radiohead recorded a couple of songs (including Identikit) at Jack White's Third Man Records last June but nothing has surfaced. I was really hoping for a fall EP. Colin recently said the band would enter the studio this September to begin work on their next album however Atoms For Peace will be touring at that time so who knows. Radiohead are one of those bands where you wake up on a random Wednesday and the whole album is posted online digitally with no prior warning of its existence (done with In Rainbows and The King of Limbs). I dig their style.

I would probably put Morning Glory on a par with The Bends (my favourite Radiohead album) personally. Anything 2000 onwards would be Radiohead, for the simple reason that they seemed to give a shit about putting out a consistently good album. For me, Oasis high points beat a Radiohead high point, but just in terms of consistency, Radiohead are far better than Oasis 2000 onwards. I mean Radiohead would have never released a song as brilliant as Gas Panic and yet have a shit song like I Can See A Liar on the same album.
Definitely Maybe (and The Masterplan album + many more Oasis b-sides) still walks over any Radiohead album for me personally, including OK Computer. It's just more real, more lifelike, more emotional. Less crafty but more soul, which I think is the essence of music rather than the painstaking construction of an album like OK Computer. Paranoid Android is an impressive feat to listen to, but it leaves me cold compared to songs like Live Forever or Slide Away. There's no melody or lyric in there that I could slot into my life at anytime and think this is for me. The whole working class ethic of these early Oasis tunes really gets to me, and makes them so identifiable. As such, I am impressed and admire OK Computer, but I don't love it like I do with the very best of Oasis.

matt - agree with your 2nd sentence 100%, but just can't agree with the 1st though. Give me Oasis worst album over any Radiohead album, all day long.

IMO Ok Computer is an almost perfect album, if it wasn't for Fitter Happier, a pretentious piece of shit, it ruined a great album pretty much like Mother did on The Police's Synchronicity.
