Just heard World Not Set in Stones for the first time : ermmmmm, better be a Bside. I know we have only heard a live recording of this song so it'll probably sound vastly different in a proper studio version. I like aspects of the tune but it does seem very repetitive and doesn't go anywhere. It does have a "The Beat Goes On" feel like someone else has previously mentioned. Hopefully Dave Sitek got a hold of this, shortened it and added some nice sonic landscape. There is hope in this tune yet. |

Well i saw that live version with Liam in the City shirt, even them seem bored to play it.
It gave the same envy to listen to it again as when i heard Meaning of Soul and Bell will ring live in 2004.

The world's not set in stone is pretty average at best, knock a minute or so off and it'd have been a lot better. I think Beady Eye do seem to have this thing of repeating lyrics and dragging songs out too much where if they shortened them the songs would sound much better, the one I forgive them for is Wigwam as that somehow works.
(For the record I far from hate Beady Eye but after 10 or so listens it did get too repetitive to be fair)
