When I look at the tracklistings of Oasis' last 4 albums, it's difficult for me to see FLW in even the Top 4 songs of any album. It's a good song, but not lead single material, at least not by Oasis standards. Depending on the strength of the album and the strength of the singles on that album, it's probably a 4th single at best. It's better than 'The Hindu Times' for me and as good as, if not better than 'Lyla' Yes, that's why I said, even if you look at the next best option. Which means the actual lead single and then the song from that album which could have been a lead single. SCYHO would be the lead single for most bands, better song than the Hindu Times and more widespread appeal than Four Letter Word. I think Four Letter Word is a better song than Lyla. But not a better single. Four Letter Word really lacks that nice hooky chorus that was always associated with even the worst Oasis singles. Four Letter Word is basically the difference between a good song and a good single. Good song, but not lead single material in my opinion.

...And not only that, the chorus isn't even melodically related to the instrumentals. It's just a shit song, with shit lyrics and an even shitter vocal. For fucks sake team, wake up. Now, I find this interesting. As I see it, in terms of rythm it is a departure...but in terms of notes not so much. But I'd like you to explain that, cos I don't know what would be the "correct" thing The 'correct' thing would be something that doesn't sound shit. Pretty simple innit.

People who keep going on about Four Letter Word need to get a grip, that track died for me on his second line "it's all in a moment, look away and its gone", the way he sounds when he says "gone" is fucking embarrassing. They captured Kermit on record. And not only that, the chorus isn't even melodically related to the instrumentals. It's just a shit song, with shit lyrics and an even shitter vocal. For fucks sake team, wake up. If you don't think FLW is a good song, even if you can't appreciate though it might not be to your taste, you are shit. And don't call people 'team' there is a lot of us that obviously aren't in the same one. Lol you're the best thing about this forum. First class douche.

I agree actually and Beady Eye very much needed a single with a very catchy chorus. Hope the next one ticks that box for their own sake.

Top 5 BDI songs in order: The Morning Son In the Bubble With A Bullet (yes the last minute of it is forgettable but the first 2 minutes is the apex of the band so far) Wigwam World Outside of my Room Sons of the Stage (yes it's a cover, still better than anything they've done apart from the 4 above songs) You've got it mate, although personally I'd throw The Roller in there too, and maybe switch a few around. It's not hard to imagine why people think Beady Eye are bad when they think that Four Letter Word is their best song, its pretty much the definition of average. Could not disagree with this anymore if i tried. Also if you want the definition of average, Pete Doherty is the man.

You evil bastard. Lol. What about this one? "Oh me, oh my, I'm running out of batteries"[/quote] If you think the utterly asinine For Anyone is better than Dream On, I can only advise you to rinse the spunk out of your ears and wish you a speedy recovery. God bless.

Basically a competition for the tallest midget. The only redeeming piece of For Anyone is Liam's voice and the only redeeming piece of Dream On are some of the quirky lyrics and the ending.

Cant believe what I read on this forum at times, you sure you peeps are actually Oasis fans? I really like Dream on and think if it had liam singing it then it would probably be a truely great oasis song. And For Anyone is also a good song imo, I cant split them and wouldn't want to either. I love both.

Dream On is a vintage slice of Noel Gallagher Be Here Now-esque pop.

And I'm sure the tallest midget would take pride - But not for one second do I believe any of these songs are amazing, just two good album tracks. 'For Anyone' was never nailed live and it never will be but on record it's pretty catchy with a very decent melody. 'Dream On' is okay/good. The ''Sha-lalalalalalalala'' bit in the middle is brilliant but I disagree with you about the ending, it drags on waaayyy too long for me.

Dream On is very mediocre and I think I can write better songs than that and fuck the hell why is there a thread with 10 pages on it that has one obscure article from the OP and absolutely zero information after on? I come home late at night tired and get deceived every day these days.. The single needs to materialize real soon.

Dream On Demo is better than the album version, more fun. Agreed. I like the demo more. I dislike calling the songs on HFB's overproduced because usually those claims are made with some cliched definition of what overproduced is. But I do feel that the production on Dream On chokes whatever life the track has.

Imagine Liam singing it though, with Noel on backing. Would turn it from a good tune into a great one, IMO

The Morning Son for me would be a top 2 song on any of the post-2000 Oasis albums. Its what I wanted Soldier On to be. Maybe on SOTSOG it would be #3 behind GP and RIO, but every other album top 2. Also, if you told me I was only allowed to listen to one song out of BE and NGHFB for the rest of my life, I would pick TMS without thinking twice. I just love it that much.
