In my humble opinion, Noel rocked out with his cock out with this setlist. I love it.

It's been said many times in this thread the promoter billed this gig as noel gallagher playing oasis classics. (Obv the promoter paid him lots of money to do this) He didnt do this he basically did a HFB gig with few obscure songs/ B sides. People bought tickets for 'oasis classics' they got b sides they don't care about and him promoting his new album and some oasis songs . This gig wasnt a part of him promoting HFB it was a one off gig so you can see why they weren't happy. If you went up see a bands greatest hits one off show and they played b sides/ obscure songs you didn't know or and promoting their new solo album you'd be pissed off I personally loved the set list and can't wait for TCT, but obviously noel would've known how the gig was being promoted and for him just to assume average ex pat would love the setlist instead of oasis classics was very naive. Well that's on the promoter then. Do you really think Noel agreed anything like that with the promoter? No, of course he didn't. People have this idea that artists like Noel should be a traveling jukebox. Him and a lot of others are big enough to play whatever they want, whenever they want and long may it continue.

Are people on this board really complaining about the setlist?

Are people on this board really complaining about the setlist? Not really surprising when you really think about this board's past history, unfortunately

i consider myself a bit of a fanboi, but most of the people around here appear to be far beyond this. "daft" would be a term that might come close to what i'd consider them. i'm not too excited to hear the 38387623. rendition of dlbia, wonderwall or even igtbf. it just gets boring to hear him doing the same songs over and over again. i, personally, would think that it would get boring for noel himself to do the same shit year after year after year. but i might be wrong. at least he throws in the obscure oasis-b-side every now and then, i give him that. but overall he's a lazy fucker. why are you so stupid ? Digsy's dinner, shout it out loud, fade away......What did you expect ? Liam ?

If that bugs you you'd probably be better off not looking up set lists before you see them. And if you don't want to see the same show again then don't buy tickets to 2 shows on the same tour. I think there are more than enough other people that would like to see them. There was actually some variety towards the end of the HFB tour particularly. We've gotten 3 songs that have never before been heard live and several that haven't been heard in years. Unless Noel plays a totally different setlist every night people will never be happy I guess. Sometimes I think that people on this board forget what a minority we are in the fanbase.

If you know what to expect but then buy a ticket anyway, no way can you then fucking moan about it. You don't like the way he does things then don't buy a ticket, its not rocket science FFS

Sure, I get what you mean, but that's oasis you know, an awesome show, but still the same every night, check the setlists of all tour, but sure, in early days, it was perfect because all the tunes were perfect. And I am not a fanboy, to be honest I don't know all oasis songs and only few b-sides

Does he really have the whole Oasis catalog? Does anyone expect him to play C&A or TSOTL?
He's played a fairly decent number of the Oasis catalog.
1.Whatever 2. Wonderwall 3. Don't Look Back In Anger 4. Little By Little 5. Idler's Dream 6. Angel Child 7. The Importance of Being Idle 8. Mucky Fingers 9. It's Good to be Free 10. D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman 11. Digsy's Dinner 12. Shout It Out Loud 14. Lord Don't Slow Me Down 15. Talk Tonight 16. Half The World Away 17. Supersonic 18. Fade Away
That's 18 songs from the Oasis catalog, while rotating his own songs into his setlist. Considering that there are just some songs from the Oasis catalog he can't play like Hello, Live Forever, C&A, Champagne Supersona, TSOTL, a half of DOYS, a half of DBTT, a half of HC, and some of the b-sides from that era, 18 is not bad. He does not have the whole catalog to choose from. I don't know why people don't get that. If you total up the songs he could perform (92 if you take out songs synonymous with Liam or written by Liam, Gem, and Andy. And I'm including some obscure songs that he'd probably never play) he's performed about 20% of the catalog he could play. As mentioned before, there is a balance between him playing the hits and playing obscure tracks. I guess people will always complain about the setlist even if he played all 92.

I liked the look of that setlist myself. One thing I'd say is that it must be quite uncomfortable to play a song that hardly anybody in the crowd knows, you can do it a few times in a set but any more than that and the crowd might start to get a bit fidgety. Oasis was always about the crowd having a party.

This needs to be the new setlist opener. Thanks so much for sharing!! lolol ever since we got the setlist, just seeing the abbreviations I've been thinking this was Let the Lord Shine a Light on Me lol, Lord Don't Slow me Down is much better!!! of course that song was made for Liam and I prefer his vocals but it's great to hear Noel's doing some different songs. look forward to what the TCT has coming (hopefully some proshot stuff). smooth with that mike lol funny

I gave up commenting (more or less) on this forum because whenever I said what I thought I was instantly attacked by nut jobs that would crawl half a mile through broken glass top hear Noel fart through a walkie-talkie. I applaud your honesty and I completely agree. It's the hardcore fans that bring him in the cash. People who buy every album and go to every gig they can. It's THOSE fans that Noel should be doing his shows for. The ones who know about and want to hear the more obscure stuff, the unconventional songs. Not your average Joe who's coming to see him for a one-off gig. Regardless of what others on the forum may say, you've hit the nail on the head, my friend.

He can play some "obscure" b-side and DLBIA or Wonderwall in the same gig,it isn't a problem, the problem is that he's fucking lazy and he plays the same setlist over and over...but we know that,so if he changes the setlist sometimes and put in it songs like LDSMD or SIOL it's a good thing and we should be really happy, but you want more and more and more... C'mon I would like Oasis obscure song too,but he is the fucking Noel Gallagher and we know him,he can't change,so enjoy every show
