Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
I liked some aspects of it, disliked others. Although a minimum runtime of two-and-a-half hours seems to be mandatory for mainstream movies nowadays, that is still a lot of movie to try to take in in one sitting -- like listening to a 70 minute album. So I want at least another viewing before I can try to make sense of the film overall. I don't know whether that'll be in the coming weeks at the cinema, or in a year or two when it plays on telly.
One thing I did enjoy without any reservation was getting to listen to a new score from the maestro John Williams. It sounded wonderful playing through the screening room's (to my ears) fantastic sound system!
i enjoyed it, its nowhere near the standard of the OT but then again what is. I think they missed a trick not bringing back a grown up shortround in the place of teddy

I think they missed a trick not bringing back a grown up shortround in the place of teddy It seemed like the sole reason Teddy was there was to remind us of Short Round. So yeah, maybe they should've just contrived a way to bring Short Round back. At least the audience knows him. I never got a sense of who Teddy was beyond being a generic plucky street urchin. What's making him do that incredibly dangerous thing at the end? He has some history with Helena, but enough to take a risk like that?

Watched that film Living starring Bill Nighy (screenplay by Kazuo Ishiguro) on Amazon Prime this week. If you've got Prime, watch it.
What a beautiful film, was very moving.

Just watched Where The Crawdads Sing. I was given the book by a friend for my birthday a couple of months ago and was curious what the movie would be like. Of course it was quite different from the book, as movies usually are, but the gist was pretty much the same.
Just a nice watch (great cinematography) and a good story. Loved the twist at the ending too.

Gangs Of Lemur Island on Pick at tea time. It was a good series but I think tonight's episode was the last one of the series. Wild animals never have it easy.

Sometimes community notes are a good thing Another note was hilariously bad though, something along the lines of Oppenheimer being jewish, thus non-white so actually it was a great movie featuring minorities

I've been dragged along by my girlfriend's family to watch Barbie yesterday but I'm too marxist for this shit. I've only seen clips of the Barbie film on TV and that's enough for me as it looks like a load of crap. Mind you, I used to have the dolls when I was a kid and always preferred them to Sindy.

Tenet
After watching this nobody can convince me that Nolan doesn't have a big wank every day thinking of how clever he is. It felt like what a Nolan hater might have made as a spoof if they had the necessary budget. It's like I need a fucking degree in physics to understand the dialogue, and the blandness of the characters eventually stopped me from caring enough to try. By the end I just wanted everyone involved to die so I could get some sort of an emotional release after having felt trapped for 140 minutes. God damn.

I'm going to watch it tonight! Thanks matt! I'm reading Clara and The Sun again now and as I'm reading it for the second time, I understand the plot more due to my humble knowledge of the English language. The last book of him I read was A Pale View Of Hill which I wasn't very keen as I expected to be honest. Next one I would love to read is When We Were Orphans.

He can be hit and miss but a rewarding author at the same time on repeat readings. But it is almost impossible to top The Remains of the Day. If you love that book and film, I think Living will be for you mimmi, has similar themes and just as poignant.
