Never been into The Killers, managed to get tickets to see them in Cardiff in November this morning, apparently they're rather good live

Damn it, I thought this was the leak thread. Huge Killers fan. I really want to see them on this tour, since I've never seen them and the Royal Albert Hall DVD is amazing.

Seen them live twice, was going to do an O2 date, but it clashes with another gig that I'm attending with my sister, and my friend can't make it anyway...
But yeah, they're awesome.

It's out in Australia on Friday, so that should be the latest we'll get it... Then there's also the possibility that and Australian will get it a day or 2 early, so we could have it Wednesday.

I hope this doesn't disappoint. I wasn't that impressed with the new single. Love Hot Fuss, Sam's Town is underrated, and Day and Age is a fun album.

Not at ALL impressed on first listen, but I'm going to listen to it again today in my car. Hopefully it starts growing on me because the first time around the whole album seemed like one long bombastic verse with no chorus.

The album is a grower, I think... But there's a fair bit of filler...
I like Flesh And Bone, Runaways, A Matter Of Time, Miss Atomic Bomb, The Rising Tide and Battle Born.

I like Flesh And Bone, Runaways, A Matter Of Time, Miss Atomic Bomb, The Rising Tide and Battle Born. Be Still? It's not quite Goodnight, Travel Well, but like that it's comfortably the best song on the album.

It's alright, but I prefer the more upbeat, exciting side to The Killers, rather than the ballads and slower tracks... Goodnight, Travel Well is my least favourite Killers song, haha.

Sam's Town was a massive grower, I thought I wasted my money at first. But it turned into one of my favorite albums, hoping for something similar here.

this album is a massive disappointment. Their worst record yet. It's bloated and lacks energy. I've never really taken the killers that seriously seeing as they are a band that make huge fun pop/rock music but it feels like with this album they are taking themselves a little too seriously. A once exciting band as fallen to the pray to generic arena rock but seeing that I've never seen them if they come to my local arena I'll go see them without question.

Battle born(the song) was everything I wanted from them in this album but it was too little too late.

I was under the impression that since Sam's Town they always took themselves way too seriously. This album is... alright. It doesn't have the variety of Day and Age, the overall greatness of Sam's Town, or the strong singles from Hot Fuss. It's simply average.

Perhaps but at least there were fun songs on those albums (Sam's Town, Bones, The River Is Wild, Spaceman, Joy Ride) this is just dull. From Here On Out is a bit like that but its not closer in terms of songwriting compared to the others I named. Basically for me this is a less good Sam's Town that lacks the energy and songwriting that that album had or any album they made.
