i can't for the life of me work out why Noel would want to tour with snow patrol, maybe he's after more record sales in the US???
or has he become part of the pop world and just plays the game...anyway i'm having none of it

I don't see the point in it either considering Snow Patrol are nothing special in the states either... should go on tour with U2 if he wanted anything out of the US.
He did an interview a few months back with someone in Australia and they asked about what it's like for him in the US... could tell from the tone of his voice he felt bitter.
Little too late for him to give a crap about being big in the US if you ask me, him and Liam blew that chance between them during 96-97.

If he doesn't want to do it, he wouldn't even have started it.
Edit: I'm sick of hearing people complaining about it and people making a fun of it.

Ahh I love these silly threads. There will be another one after the Olympics when Liam mimes Wonderwall between George Michael and Take That. People can't do anything these days without being accused of "selling out".
Taking the definitions of some people on this forum I honestly can't think of a single artist that hasn't sold out

Third. If people are going to enjoy it isn't that all matters? Some people are so uptight and pathetic on this forum.

Fourthed
This forum is pathetic about stuff like this. Everything that anyone does has to be an indication of one or the other Gallagher "selling out."
Liam does Alan Carr (he's selling out) Noel plays a massive opening slot for a big band that he doesn't mind (he is selling out) Noel plays a co-headline tour with Snow Patrol, again a band Noel doesn't mind. (he's selling out) Liam agrees to play Wonderwall at the Olympics, and according to the Who the bands will all be miming (he's selling out)
I am glad he is doing it. He'll likely get a longer set on this tour as a co-headliner than he would as an opening act a larger artist. And if I really hate Snow Patrol I'll go home or grab a drink while they play. It's hardly gonna make my ears bleed to hear some mediocre pop/rock.
Also...U2 aren't on tour OR releasing an album immediately...so I don't really know what dongoaway92 is on about.
I'll bet dollars for donuts that most people that are complaining about this live within driving distance of a Noel show that has already happened.
Personally I think this is great. Where I live Noel was never gonna visit on his own. I appreciate him making an effort to get to as many places as he can. Not all of us live in Toronto, LA, Chicago, NYC, etc where there'll be a show every tour gauranteed.
I travelled to see him in Toronto...but not every fan has the means to hop on a plane to see a show or travel great distances by car. I think it's incredibly rude to begrudge fans in smaller cities the opportunity to see Noel live just because YOU aren't a fan of Snow Patrol
I appreciate the fact that Noel will have made the effort to play 38 shows in North America by the end of this tour. BDI only played something like 13 and none of them close enough for me to get to without a plane ride. Stop being such snobs!
People set these unrealistic expectations for the Gallaghers. Get ready to be disappointed. It'll happen a lot more.
I wait with bated breath praying your head explode from the overflow of manufacture idignation to put us all out of your misery
RANT OVER

I've seen Noel twice in the past year and I've had to fly to see him both times (Boston and Coachella). I go to school in Nashville and I've been dying for him to play the Ryman, one of the best venues in the nation without a doubt and if I get to see him there without having to travel then I'm an extremely happy camper. Snow Patrol aren't total shit sure they are boring, bland, dramatic, but their first three albums especially their first two albums are pretty good though I doubt they'll play much from those. All I know is in November I'll be seeing my favorite songwriter at my favorite venue and I'm three rows back from the stage its gonna be a great night.

Isn't the whole point of being an artist to make money? A living? Livelihood?
He could be touring with The Wiggles and I'd go as long as he came within ear shot of me. Which he is,, and I'm going to be there. If Snow Patrol suck, then I'll leave early. No big deal.

I'm afraid it seems to be all about the money these days for Noel...he said that was the reason he supported RHCP was for the money...

Don't know why this is an issue. HFB materials are more in line with Snow Patrol than stadium rock anthems Noel used to do.

If he was in it for the money he'd be in Oasis. Seriously open your eyes. Noel is all about commercial decisions lately. The best he could do at this point is to reform Oasis. I can't stand seeing him supporting utter shit bands, making shit videos with atricuous"guests". Oasis was a real rock n roll band with value not a pop act ready to support anyone. I guess the reason they never sold out during Oasis is Liam. Liam would never in a million years supoort Snow Patrol. And then there's stuffs I don't understand. Why on earth is Noel supporting radio pop act and not doing the olympics. It would have been a great exposure without selling out for once. Liam isn't seeling out at all doing the olympics. He's just part of a big even celebration like the live aid. No problem here.

Singing a song you don't like, that isn't yours, that none of your real fans would choose, for purely commercial reasons isn't good. Doing Live Forever or Rock n' Roll Star would be more acceptable to me, but Beady Eye are already dead in the water in the UK and the dragging out of Noel's songs is desperate and ultimately futile.
I've got no issue with Noel playing with Snow Patrol but the billing really should be reversed. Noel has a more successful background in the US than Snow Patrol do. He's also an actual music legend who's written all-time classics, whereas Snow Patrol are just a pretty decent MOR band.
Still, anything beats Kasabian.

I think we can all agree that both Noel and Liam are horrible sell-outs and we should just find another band to enjoy. I mean Liam has never mimed before (except all of the times he has mimed) and Noel has never toured with a boring, MOR band (except Travis and when he played with Chris Martin and etc).
