I'm joining the 5:15 brigade. All the substance of the track is within that time, then it's generic AA noise for 10 mins that is unnecessary really.
I have an image in my head of two chimpanzees in a studio trying to make songs wearing Amorphous Androgynous t-shirts... They seem incapable of just making songs, as opposed to overworked psychedelic wankfests

Given an infinite amount of time, by pure chance, those Chimpanzees could recreate note for note the entire Pink Floyd back catalogue...

I loled a bit @ 2'50"... those keyboards and female voices. Now that was too much for me. Shittiest remix so far. They've outshited themselves !!!!

these remixes or new versions or whatever they are are just too predictable now..what a life..shoot a hole and the falling down mix all have the stupid female vocal in and are just far too long and too self indulgent!!!...noel should of used aa to do the odd remix..surely he's got enough tracks and studio experience to do something psycodelic himself without letting these idiots spoil his music

Perhaps Noel should have released his AA album as part of a deluxe release of HFB with b-sides and the entire AA project as a bonus disc. I remember The Coral used this tactic with their USA release of "Magic and Medicine". They included their expertimental and spontaneously recorded "Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker" album as an extra CD.

If the AA album comes out I wouldnt mind production like this, it's just the length that spoils it for me. If a song is going to be long it needs not to be so bloddy repetitive. Im not a fan of remixs, I hate how Noels vocal just gets repeated over and over only with different pseudo psychedelic effects stuck on top.

I'm in the 5:15 crowd. These mixes aren't bad, just soooo fuuuuuckiiiing LOOONG. It's not even "psychedelia", it's just dance music. Looped vocals, "spacey" sounds, and that shit avant garde singer. This remix doesn't go anywhere. Where's the crows, man? Those crows fucking MADE Falling Down.
Falling Down, at 22 minutes, was acceptable and very listenable because it kept things interesting. It was new, exciting, and took the song into an entirely new plain of existence. It sounded like five different songs wrapped into one. Upon first listen, I was amazed and stunned. Hell, the opening tells it all.
This mix is just...lazy.
I must say though, that the Laser Gun solo in this WAL! remix was good for a laugh.

The ideas in here are great, but they really need an editor. If you took this and made it a proper 5 minutes, it would be great. Keep the sounds, but fashion them into a pop song structure. I like the disco strings, etc, MUCH more than the one of the album, but the length and lack of momentum make it boring.
I wonder if Noel's AA album is like this? If so, I could understand why he'd see it as being far from done. That said, get in there with Sardy and I bet something great could come from it.

Having tried and failed to listen to this all the way through, even once, AA can join Mike Bruce on my Go Fuck Yourself List

I'm still excited about this album, and hope they release it at some point, but everytime I listen to a new remix, I get the feeling more and more that the AA are a one-trick pony.

A thousand more times and interesting than Shoot a Hole into the Sun Sun Sun Sun.
Do like it. But as others say, it's way too long - should have stopped at 5:15, or actually at 7:30 - I like the drumming and beat going on in between 5:15 and 7:30, but 16mins? Really? Not needed.

Since this is a "remix" of WAL, maybe the AA album version will be much shorter. If the AA album is going to be 13 tracks long, not every song can be 8 to 16 minutes in length. I would think the majority gotta be 4 minutes in length.

I loved Falling Down, I liked Shoot A Hole however, I am not keen on What A Life. As an album I am really struggling to see how it would work without being repetitive and even a tad boring. I think Noel has done the right thing by delaying the album in hope that people forget about it.

If the AA album is going to be 13 tracks long, not every song can be 8 to 16 minutes in length. Do you own Be Here Now? That album only has 1 track over 8 minutes, not 13. That is my point. Plus one track is already 16 minutes in length. Eating up CD time swiftly. Be Here Now had 5-6 tracks in the 5 minute range anyway.

i don't get the idea behind remixing a soft pop song like if i had a gun and a more uptempo coldplay-esk song like what a life. it's weird and so they sound

WAL at least works better with what they are trying to do than IFIHAG. Still not convinced that I could listen to an album of stuff like this without getting bored very fast.

AA are so shit. Crayola psychedelia. I agree. He should just give these remixes away on his website. Far more interested in hearing a new batch of proper Noel tunes, not this hipster studio dickery.
