it's funny how England was the catenaccio team... Italy played better, with a Vieri or a Roberto Baggio they'd have scored a couple of goals.
Forza Azurri! defeat the Germans!!

Yes, we fookin' made it. As Diamanti told after the game, "We played better. Justice was made". Fair play to England, though, tough to beat.
Now bring us the Germans, we've had nice memories every time we've faced them ;D

While England's results have been good under Roy, the performances have not been. Look at the possession stats for each game - we've been out played. Shots on goal? Same conclusion.
It was much better than the diabolical 2010 World Cup, but England are still utterly useless, make no mistake about it.
1996 - 1998 was our golden era, and we blew that, too.

This England was screaming out for Paul Scholes. Someone who can control possession and dictate a match. We also missed Wilshere a lot

Even Paul Scholes couldn't have helped that lot.

Thank fuck England are out and I don't have to watch them clear balls from the box for 90 minutes anymore. Boy, did I celebrate the way that pealty shootout ended.
Second time ever in which I've supported Italy. I thought only Zidane could make me do that, but Roy has something special about him.
Very decent semifinals btw. It'll be fun.

England have a great squad, a set of top players. And it frustrastes me to keep seeing them underperform. I love Gerrard, and I love Walcott (even with his many flaws). But even though I hate Rooney, I know he's fucking great and I still like it when I see him scores flying kick goals and impossible headers. I just hate seeing Gerrard being given the role of tackling forwards and clearing crosses instead of playing upfront, using his passing ability and maybe TRYING TO SCORE. I hate to see MIlner beeing given a whole wing when Ox and Walcott are warming the bench. I don't want a team like that to win.

Now bring us the Germans, we've had nice memories every time we've faced them ;D I'm actually rather optimistic that we may finally beat you in a tournament - our team is a lot better than it was in 2006 and Italy got a little worse. It's going to be a great game - I just hope it won't be total catenaccio on Italy's side. Shame about England, they weren't that bad and Young was just unlucky to hit the bar (Cole's penalty was shocking though).

LOL "La Minchia nel Pugno" means "The c*** in the fist" and it's a parody of a coalition of parties founded in 2005 and called "La Rosa nel Pugno" ("The Rose in the Fist"). We were just unlucky to hit the bar twice in the game ;D

Italy were the better team, of course - it's just a shame that England, a nation notorious for always loosing penalty shoot-outs, loses this one so narrowly. (I remember the game against Portugal 2006 - worst set of penalties I've ever seen.)

every team chooses their tactics, many times it depends on the rival they're facing that day. And playoff matches are usually boring unless it's your team and you're too nervous or excited. At least, by the moment, the team that tries it more is the one who wins. of course, there are exceptions, like 2006 SF extratime Second time ever in which I've supported Italy. I thought only Zidane could make me do that, but Roy has something special about him. Very decent semifinals btw. It'll be fun. you can't hate Zizou. He was too good for that. I'm expecting some fun too

it's not fear. last Euro final you started better but we won. Last match on world cup we played better with more chances. next one would be something like that. In fact, it would be easier for you to defeat Portugal. sometimes, a big team can defeat most teams except one or two, maybe for the style or the mentality, and it usually lasts for a while. It happened to Zaragoza vs Real Madrid or Barça, or Valencia vs Barça. German players would spend their energy chasing shadows. Plus, I like Italy
