Forza azzurri! Let's kick the French out of the tournament now I do hope England manage to scrape first place tomorrow, primarily because I'd prefer not to endure the inevitable tedium of a quarter-final against Spain. You mean because Spain are boring or because chasing the ball is boring?

You mean because Spain are boring or because chasing the ball is boring? Bit of both. England would have set up with ten men behind the ball, Spain would have passed it about a bit. Every so often someone might have had a go from twenty or thirty yards. Like I said, tedium.

Yes, you're right, Spain are like a Messi-less Barcelona, but Torres is a fuckin' quality striker in these occasions, so they remain the favourites.
I can't wait to watch England vs. Italy. It's gonna be tough 'cause both teams can defend well, especially us. And I'm sure if we take the Germans in the semifinals we can make history again like 2006.
Go azzurri ;D

Time for Spain vs. France
I hope Spain win, and they should do. I do still love Cesc. What a man, what a mighty good man. Hope he bags the winner.

The atmosphere at this match must rank among the worst of all time... Shocking.

I think if Germany take their chances they're the only team that can beat Spain. If they can't its spain 2012 winners.

we set the pace, we control the game, we score the goals. Next one will be special and harder.

What is the problem with Cesc? He's my age, and I've grown up watching him as he made his Arsenal debut when he was 15/16. He's my favorite Arsenal player of recent times, and he's a model professional. He has to be the most underrated midfielder in the entire sport, but that's slowly beginning to change. He's been up there with the very best since a very young age, in my opinion.

I hope Italy wins tomorrow, 2006 semifinals match was huge I can see this being either a tight 1-0 England win or a 1-1 draw going to ET/Pens. Either way, it would be nice for England to beat Germany in the Semis - there's some old scores to settle: Euro 96, World Cup 2010 (where we were beyond abysmal), etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if they reach the final. anyways matches from now on can be decided with details or a good play, so all I can do is hope my national to win it

Something Americans over here don't understand why I complain about it. Simply put: One off day eliminates you. Remember when Greece won Euro 2004? I'd hardly call them the best team in Europe. Just like I wouldn't call Chelsea the best club team in Europe after winning the Champions League, but finishing 6th in the Prem. Playoffs/knockouts are exciting, to be sure, but it's hardly a fair adjudication of a team's worth. I'd love England to win the competition, but I'd be the first to admit that this England team is not even close to being better than the other remaining finalists.

So far every quarter finals match has been completely one sided... in other words, boring. I thought today's match would be different but France disappointed yet again. Hopefully we can actually see a game tomorrow.
