I don't think they would've planned for five singles for an album nobody expected to do this well. Another theory is that they planned to do a video for the AA album now (which would be consistent with the original plan for its release) and they're using that scheduling slot for something else. It might be the case, but is it going THAT well? I mean, I dont even know if its a fair comparison, but its the only one I got from Noel, is it going better than the last few Oasis albums which had three singles each? In terms of longevity...it's spent more time in the top 20 and top 40 than any post BHN Oasis album. I suppose longevity would be the best reason for releasing a single over 6 months after an album. tbf Noel has had a more stable chart run than any Oasis album in 15 years. Oasis sold more...but were generally overwhelmingly front loaded and dropped off quicker.

Or it is still for the forthcoming AA album and the footage will be put on the shelf until that's released?

The fifth video was planned. That's interesting... Thanks for the article.

Imagine the shitstorm on here if Noel had gone with the director's original idea ;D The fifth video was planned. That's interesting... Thanks for the article. That only tells us it's been planned since March - I have no doubt it's been in the pipeline for longer, but I'm sure they didn't plan originally for five HFB videos (if that's what this is).

If you look back at the press conference and for a couple of months afterward, Noel kept saying the three singles. He kept saying that for sure there would be singles and that's all that they were sure on.

Thanks for posting this interview. Very interesting. It makes me respect Mike Bruce even more. He saw he had a great opportunity with Noel and he went for it. Also interesting to see the give and go between Noel and Bruce and Noel's management and Bruce.

it'll be freaky teeth as a single. it's obviously already recorded, and it's been a staple in the set.
as it's a 'lot oasis' tune it might be accompanied by the others noel has mentioned recently, or a few AA mixes.

With regards to cost effective, that's what I have been saying about Alone On The Rope. A great song with a nice bit of production, seems a waste to only release this in Germany!?!
Having said that I think it's too dark & heavy to be a single.
I don't think this will be a live video, like LDSMD, either because of Misha Barton & other actors. (Why are they connected?! What happened to the trilogy idea?!)
At this point I'd go for a non album stand alone single release (like Freeky Teeth) with Live album tracks as possible B-sides.
Then again, nothing would surprise me from the Noel camp now.

Interesting that they might be tying in the DO video since Noel said when that came out that it wasn't part of the series.

Sorry, I meant it was planned since the beginning of March. I don't have to drink while I'm writing. If we knew about this article before, it wouldn't be a surprise Mischa's twitter and the photos.

all this 'freaky teeth' shit is tedious,
lets say it is freaky teeth, what will happen.. ill tell you:
most people on here will beg for it, saying its a perfect stand alone single. then it'll come chart extremely poorly and they most people on here will critise Noel, the management, the youth of today, the release date, simon cowell, digital downloads and anything else as an excuse for the poor charting.
when in reality its simply because nobody cares

Most of the videos have sucked. I get the direction Bruce is trying to go off of, however they suck. They arent that interesting. The ONLY that makes them cool is the song playing along to the jibberish in the vid. Now this crap with washed up Mischa Barton, paah-lease! And as much as we all in here LOVE Noel and buy his singles, they WILL NEVER chart like Oasis' did 15yrs ago. those days are long gone. The videos would be better if they were animated like the MP one or if they did something like AATW. Somethings just not sitting right with these current vids.

5 singles from the HFB album is way too much, I would bet money on this being something else, Freaky Teeth does seem like the most likely, could possibly be an EP where Noel could make use of them UNKLE remixes they did a few months back?
About the chart positions, I don't really care how well or how bad the singles do chart wise, lets face it, at the moment 'band' and 'guitar' music just isn't fashionable with the kids, its all electro/synth-pop rubbish. Guitar music will come back round and be in fashion again, it always does, just needs one new band to come along and kick start a new trend, all the kids will jump on board and sales and chart positions will strengthen again.

Freaky Teeth would be the smartest choice. Maybe throw another track from the AA album on as a B-side and see what the reaction is then judge from that how hard to push the next album (if it comes out).

They're videos. No one gives a fuck about them 5 minutes after they've seen them. Its a chance for at least 1 new song. Get over yourselves.
