I went to the o2 arena and i have to say it was one of the worst gigs i have been to. Not because of Noel and the band but because i turned up (maybe naively) expecting the experience i have had at all the Oasis gigs i have been to. It became obvious i was at something completely different about 30 seconds in to It's Good To Be Free.
It was the first time i have been forced to sit down at a music concert, ever. What made this worse was i was seeing Noel Gallagher! I woudn't have minded if i was being forced along to watch fucking Take That with my girlfriend. This is Noel Gallagher! I was sat towards the back for one night at Wembley with Oasis and everyone was stood up singing along and genuinely having a good time.
But at this gig i was surrounded by 40 year old women who dressed like they were still 18 getting pissed and awkwardly rubbing up against their impatent husbands. They knew the words to Dont Look Back In Anger and that was literally it. It was awful. I think the night would have been saved if the sound quality was any good in the the place, but it really was a "soul destroying venue" as the Chief once put it.
Where have this crowd come from? These aren't Oasis crowds. These are casual fans who have jumped on the bandwagon. Just another reason in a long list to bring back Oasis.

I can say with certainty that the crowd of HFB gig at Rio de Janeiro (02.05) will be one of the bests of the tour. Still remaining 2 months to the gig and the fans are insane.

Different band, different crowds.
The first Beady Eye gig in Holland, in Paradiso in March 2011 was very special, crowds got mental, but the second one 7 months later in a bigger venue was surrounded by many "casual" fans.
I really enjoyed seeing Noel in Melkweg in November last year, but quite some people on here watching the live webstream called us, Dutch fans dull. I must say that there was quite some casual fans who only know Wonderwall and DLBIA at the last 2 Oasis gigs I've been to in 2009 as well.

The Newcastle gig was mental, very similar to Oasis, it's London, what do you expect?

The crowds in Glasgow and Aberdeen were nuts. They were at least on a par with the Oasis gigs I've been too.

Arena gigs can be really shit if you're at the back, coz it attracts people that wouldnt fight to get tickets to smaller shows. I was at an Oasis gig in 2006 at wembley arena, pretty shit crowd, and venue.

In my experience, the crowd at Usher Hall, Edinburgh, was fucking brilliant! Everyone was jumping and singing from the first chord of It's Good To Be Free!
The crowd at the SECC, Glasgow, was the very same. Everyone was getting right into it from the start and everyone was singing! It felt like the Usher Hall gig but on a larger scale.
The crowd at the AECC, Aberdeen, was fucking shit. The venue is shit and Aberdeen crowds are clueless.
So I guess it just depends on the venue and area. Aberdeen is too North and too cold. The AECC is just a massive hall with shit acoustics and a curtain at each end.

That's what happens when you start catering for the Colplay/Take That audience.

The crowd in Philly in November was pretty solid. It seems like a strong contingent of the US gig-goers tend to me hardcore fans, which I guess is down to the less exposure Noel gets stateside.
The American fans knew the HTWA clap, and you could hear the crowd eerily echo the lines to Supersonic (a song that's basically unknown to most Americans) just as you can at the UK gigs.
I expect Noel to put Wonderwall (it really works, especially with the lighting, to create a special atmosphere) back for the US tour, but he bally well better keep Whatever in there.
Furthermore, that light show that accompanied his songs was amazing. I know I sad it before, but it bears repeating. I expect no less of a performance at the end of this month in DC. Had a great time previously.

I had the same probleme when I saw Noel. Huge singalong during DLBIA and Wonderwall and Supersonic, but for the rest... Everyone was very quite, calm, no energy, no passion like at Oasis gig where it was mental. Around me I was the only with my friends one to clap during HTWA !

Detroit is usually a great time. I would say mostly hardcore fans who know all the songs. Interesting to see the HFB gig here in a few weeks. I may try and hit Columbus, OH as well.

i was at the gig at the secc a couple of weeks ago and for me it was better than oasis in 08 at the secc and oasis in 09 at murrayfield. it was a great crowd, i think i seen someone on here say, you didnt feel like there was impending doom like at an oasis gig, it was calm but still the crowd sang along to every song.

Saw the chief at both his LA gigs at UCLA, the crowd fucking sucked BOTH nights. Aside from the staple songs that everyones mom knows it was DEAD. Way tooo many casuals and contest winners. Saw BE a month later in LA and the crowd was electrified, probably more so than the last Oasis gigs in LA. Eastcoast gigs get more fanatical bc of a larger contingent of Brits living out there. Thinking about seeing Noel in Dan Diego in a few weeks, hopefully it's a smaller venue than UCLAs Royce Hall

Noel's Philadelphia and two New York shows both had a really pumped up crowd. A lot of signing went down on his Oasis tunes (Wonderwall, Supersonic, Don't Look Back In Anger, Half The World Away, Talk Tonight, etc). As an American, who didn't get the chance to see Oasis in 1994-1996, many like myself missed a lot of these tunes, especially getting the chance to hear Noel sing them over Liam. It was a real treat to say the least. I feel the crowds really responded to this opportunity to hear Noel sing more and also hear songs that were never performed on US tours.

Couldn't be arsed to read what everyone else said, but I agree with the OP... The crowd around me was awful... They all stood up, but me, my mum, and the drunk guy behind us were literally the ONLY ones around us singing... It was a massive letdown... And I could have sworn I was the youngest person there... As the OP said "I was surrounded by 40 year old women who dressed like they were still 18 getting pissed and awkwardly rubbing up against their impatent husbands." It was just poor for me... It's just full of Asda mums....
