exactly, it really doesn't take a whole lot to make a video "decent". Unfortunately this video is not even that.

Aiiiiight, aiiiiiiiight I'm cool with that. I think the song has a lot to do with the hate this one's getting. As you said, it's so bad it's good in a way. It's really corny, but I find it infinitely more interesting than IIHAG.
One thing I will say is this director needs to ease up on the slow motion. Never seen anyone use it to the degree he does.

Interesting list spaneli. How much of that is the song itself tho? TSOTL and Lyla I figure you put there because they're visually pretty cool. Wonderwall has a cool style to it. CS fits the song really well and TIOBI is excellent. The rest of them tho, I don't see a whole lot going on. The only thing interesting about DLBIA is that it features Noel instead of Liam. Other than that it just looks like another 90's video. And the DM songs I get the sense they're included because they're sort of iconic songs. There's nothing really unique going on that makes me say "that's a cool video" except the fact that it's the video for Supersonic, C&A etc. I don't think it's a coincidence the height of their videos is seen as the DM and MG era. ( DISCLAIMER - Only my opinion of course ) Every great video during MG and DM, save CS and Wonderwall, were great because the band looked cool and the songs were really good. They count as good videos because they at least somewhat promoted the song. Which is the purpose of a video in the end. Lyla, TSOTL, Wonderwall, and CS are great because of their visual quality and because they work well with the song. So, I have two categories for what a good music video is. 1.) As long as it is not terrible and it is able to promote the song to great effect, then it's good imo. 2.) if it's visually pleasing. Either or the two will do for me. I agree with what you said. But for me a video that just support the band, I'll forget it two minutes after having seen it, it's empty. A good video, I'll go back to it sometimes, I still like to watch Wonderwall because I think it's truly a beautifull video, there is something classy that really captures the song and the band in this video, the style, the esthetic are really right, really beautiful. Some are empty but have something nice going on, like the uk supersonic, it's just the lads, they look great, they're young, it's like an archive document of a time. But they're other videos that really have no interest, not even for nostalgia, the best example is Who Feels Love, the guys walk in the desert and pose like in a commercial for perfume. It's got no soul, no style. The dream on video tries to have a style but failed, I wont go and watch it again ever. I think it's too bad, given how classy their sleeves were that they never worked more their image in their video. Art work are important for a band, it makes their indentity. The most important thing is music but when the song, the video, the sleeve, the band's look and the video are a global piece of art with no flaws, I thinks it's nice. Oasis had 3 of the four during the 90's, and had all four with Wonderwall or CS. But after the sleeves were awfull, the look more dandy... The only time they tried to recapture a global art work style was during DOYS, with the sleeve and the SOTL video, I didn't really liked it but at least they were trying.

Wow, I'm really disappointed by that video. Worst Gallagher video since Oasis.

I thought, on the whole, Oasis videos were pretty decent - bar the latter years and the atrocious LTBL (talk about a slow paced video not fitting the song at all!), I'm Outta Time, Falling Down, etc. At the very least, they had the Gallaghers in them more than enough, and they always looked cool.
One of my favorite Oasis videos since 2005 has to be Lyla, though. How cool does the band look? And the story unfolds well, with an epic ending. Prefer that one to TIOBI if I'm being honest.
Beady Eye have a couple of ok ones: I like the miming ones, and it shows the coolness of the band. But the Millionaire is God awful, and is pretty much on the same level of awfulness as Dream On.
Noel's had a few decent ones: TDOYAM worked really well. WAL had some cool moments. IIHAG was too tame, and too Falling Down-esqe, but Noel did look cool in it, and it told a story relevant to the song.
Dream On was so poor though. I cringed not only at Noel's count in (which I know wasn't his idea, and I'm pretty sure he cringed, too), but also when the woman marched around miming "Na na na na." Really?

Really? I hope people realise that the fight in the video should be seen as something figurative depicting the wife and husband relationship, who are sitting in audience. I do not get the hate. I think they were aiming for the ridiculous situation on purpose, like if it was a dream (Dream On) or something imagined. I admit I would prefer a video of Noel performing but I think there's more to this video than just what it appears. Plus it has some great cinematography and lifted scenes from memorable movies. And finally, a video of Noel taking a dumb would still be better than 99% of the videos that play on mtv.

Thought the video was cool. Don't get the negativity here. It's on the same level as the first three.

can't really defend the undefendable can you? anyways... we can always count on certain users to refuse to see what's evident.

I quite liked the video. Coming from Noel, he looks very funny. No idea what it meant, but not as terrible as some other bands are doing hehe ;D

TDOYAM - Very good. WAL - Weird. IIHAG - Below average and kind of dull. DO - Utter shit.
It was horrible, plain and simple. An attempt to be funny and clever but ended up looking awful, stupid and pretty cringeworthy. I can't think of too many good moments in there.

TOYAM was good. IIAG was pathetic. A mellow shit for teenagers. At least it had the funny Noel face. WAL was beyond ridiculous with Russel Brand talking for ages and the blond girls in the car... And yet this one is the worst of the 3. No really, no improvement in the video departement. I prefer the Roller, at least it's not pretentious, it's simple and the band looks good and it goes weel with the song.
