how could Noel allow this shit to be released! boxer looks like a drag queen, also, corniest acting i've seen(on a music video) in a while.... and that's saying a lot. Noel counting "1, 2, 3..." at the beginning made me cringe. and then.... again with the fucking black and white. worst Gallagher related music video. It really is a total disaster. At least the previous ones were funny and Noel looked like a boss. I really don't know what they were thinking with this one. And the "special effects" !!!! OMG.... why! lol

I don't understand the constant slow paced videos with some hidden moral meaning. Oasis did it and Noel is perservering in the same vein. I work in advertising and what it smacks of is "a camel is a horse designed by commity" they are all over thought and contrived. There is nothing organic about the videos , all too safe and it's a massive shame and I think it tells us a thing or two about Noel's age and overall mindset.

Makes me laugh because, wasn't it these kind of videos Noel said he didn't like on the Time Flies commentry?

What it tells us is the kind of video the director likes to make. Oasis never had much involvement in the development of their videos, and I'm sure Noel's no different. The video itself is alright. The concept's not nearly as good as the other three, but the end result looks pretty decent, and I'm glad they got fans in as extras. And the count-in's great

Just kidding ;-] The video is complete tripe like every other one Oasis, Beady Eye, Noel (or pretty much everybody else in music apart from Michael Jackson who used to spend the budget of a third world country on his) has ever done.

Unless it's Michael Jackson or a really attractive girl miming along then when is a music video ever good? He can't exactly paint himself silver strip naked and pose with an umbrella like Rhianna can he? It's amusing in places and corny as hell, welcome to the world of music videos.

It's kind of sad how forgettable every Oasis video is. Except for the brillants Wonderwall and TIOBI. TIOBI is really funny, inventive and Rhys Ifans is so great on it. Wonderwall is truly a wonderfull video, it's all poetry like the songs, it's as classy and elegant as the song is. And the band have never looked so good than on it.

What a bunch of negative nancies. Noel being on a video doesn't make it good you know. This one has really no interest, there's no story, so style, it's mix up some fast foward effect with white flashes with 40's esthetic style, Anyway every video is like that nowadays : no personnality, no style, no risk. And all thoses effect aren't even well made. When you think of the cvnt who gets really well paid to come up with this poor idea and this poor video... Noel tries to act a little more but that doesn't make a good video to me.

that wasn't the case with every Oasis video. Champagne SUpernova is phenomenal, TIOBI is cool, both versions of Supersonic, Live Forever is as badass as it gets, Go Let it Out, Stand By Me, even SCYHO is good. This however... this is pathetic. I thought Millionaire was awful(and it truly was) but this makes it look like the best music video ever.

Ah you're right CS was great, supersonic and Live forever are great because the band looks so cool, the video concept doesn't really exists. But I guess that was enough at the time to just show the lads at the top of their ladness. Bt later, SBM, SCYHO or GLIT are really poor video, this is really empty. Most of Oasis video have no story or a stupid one, no esthetic, no style. Their sleeves were amazing when Brian Canon were doing them, they had a great imagery, very classy aroun the band, but it never came to their video, except for Wonderwall and CS. Then the sleeves have become awfull and the video remained poor, ampty and with no style, except for TIOBI.

Eh I quite like it kinda like a metaphor for how crazy and evil women are. Punch you in the face, kiss you, knee you in the balls, kiss you etc I dunno if that was intended but that's what I got from it, although what it has to do with the song i have no idea... WAL still the best by far though.

Noel tries to act a little more but that doesn't make a good video to me. First off, at the end of the day I get that it's all subjective. I'm not trying to convince anyone that its a great video or anything. I just find it funny that given the fact it's just a music video, people are bashing it so hard. It's not like its a short film or a movie. It's just a bunch of visuals to go along with the tune, and like most music videos, it has next to nothing to do with the song. Second, even if it was the greatest music video ever made, you would hate it. Given your short history here I would never expect you to have something positive to say. I guess I just looked at it differently than most? Based on some people's comments it seems they had some form of expectations that were not met. I had no idea what to expect and I chuckled at a few parts so I rate it as a decent video. Will I go back to it in the future? I highly doubt it. Is it the worst thing I've ever seen? Far from it.

It really is so bad that it's funny.
But I'm surprised at how much hate it is getting. It's the fourth music video for the fourth single. If this were the first or second then I would see why people would be disappointed, but it's the fourth.
There weren't that many good Oasis music videos. I would say DLBIA, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, TIOBI, TSOTL, Lyla, Supersonic (us version), Live Forever (us version), and C&A. The great great majority of post 2000 videos were bad. DM and MG were basically the height of videos for Oasis and most of those were mining.

Interesting list spaneli. How much of that is the song itself tho?
TSOTL and Lyla I figure you put there because they're visually pretty cool. Wonderwall has a cool style to it. CS fits the song really well and TIOBI is excellent. The rest of them tho, I don't see a whole lot going on.
The only thing interesting about DLBIA is that it features Noel instead of Liam. Other than that it just looks like another 90's video. And the DM songs I get the sense they're included because they're sort of iconic songs. There's nothing really unique going on that makes me say "that's a cool video" except the fact that it's the video for Supersonic, C&A etc. I don't think it's a coincidence the height of their videos is seen as the DM and MG era.
( DISCLAIMER - Only my opinion of course )

seriously, all you have to do to realize just how much this video sucks, is watch the US version of Supersonic. It's nothing spectacular but it's got flair, an edge, an attitude. And no, it's not just Liam... Noel looks cool as fuck. I understand he's aged and some people think of him as this grumpy old man but come on.... put in some fucking effort or thought.
I guess this is the type of shit the "singer-songwriters" type has to resort to when he/she doesn't have a great band behind him, or isn't that good of a frontman. hence why Beady Eye can get away with The ROller, and make it actually be a good video. Actually, fuck that, i don't even buy that myself. Noel could hold his own methinks.
Just a poor choice. Not like it matters to anyone other than us, the fans. His album has already been a success in England. Noel probably doesn't even care about this single.

( DISCLAIMER - Only my opinion of course ) Every great video during MG and DM, save CS and Wonderwall, were great because the band looked cool and the songs were really good. They count as good videos because they at least somewhat promoted the song. Which is the purpose of a video in the end. Lyla, TSOTL, Wonderwall, and CS are great because of their visual quality and because they work well with the song. So, I have two categories for what a good music video is. 1.) As long as it is not terrible and it is able to promote the song to great effect, then it's good imo. 2.) if it's visually pleasing. Either or the two will do for me.
