I've just decided to come back on this. I love TUTS, it has stupid lyrics (especially the piano bit) but it's so awesome. I love all album openers..but this time I'll go for THT I guess.

I love Bag It Up more than ever. The more the years go by the less I like HC and The Hindu Times sounds as flat as a witches tit. Good live, horrible on the record.

'Turn Up The Sun'. By some distance. Just an alright song for me.

I was thinking about this again and now I think DOYS should've opened with either TSOTL or The Turning. Bag It Up is awesome, but it's not the kind of intro that gets you pumped and excited.

Apparently I voted for Turn Up The Sun which must have been a long time ago!
The Hindu Times sounds pretty weak compared to the rest of them so I'm changing my vote to that. Apart from the riff, it sounds a bit generic and average, much like the album itself. Liam's vocal is poor and the production reflects the rest of the album. I don't want Bag It Up to be winning either.
Turn Up The Sun has massively grown on me and is one of the highlights on Don't Believe The Truth.
Bag It Up is completely different to any of the other openers but it's still brilliant. It's got some strange chord changes and is sonically interesting much like the rest of the album. It doesn't sounds like a traditional album opener but it's a solid start nonetheless.

The Hindu Times sounds pretty weak compared to the rest of them so I'm changing my vote to that. Apart for the riff, it sounds pretty generic and average, much like the album itself. Liam's vocal is poor and the production reflects the rest of the album. I don't want Bag It Up to be winning either. What validates that statement is the fact that it's the only song on the album that has qualities that would suit an album opener, but yet it falls short & seems rather flat in that position. Sure you have SCYHO, LBL, and Songbird, but they aren't suited to be openers by any means. The demo drum loop, imo, would've added some flair to the song and gave it what it was lacking. Alan's drumming on the album version is drowned in loudness, and it doesn't help that there's an almost identical acoustic guitar part layered over it.

Turn up The Sun. And it's quality, and I love it and listen to it all the time. Great openers, Oasis are second only to the stones in Album openers. The Hindu Times is criminally underatted. I heard it on the radio at 15, just as I was getting into Oasis, having only heard the first three albums, and Liam snarling 'And I get so high I just can't feel it' was the coolest thing I'd ever heard, I was completely blown away by it. Still one of my favourite Oasis choruses/moments/lyrics/tunes

Hello for me, The Hindu Times is great because it flows good to Force Of Nature, after Hello comes Roll With It and I hate the studio version of it
