Seen mixed opinions on his drumming so decided to make a pole.
Im no drummer, but in the live performances i find him very unimpressive. IMO seems like a very average drummer, which for the likes of Noel Gallgher you'd expect a World Class performer...
Thoughts?

He pretty much ruins TIOBI, he needs to slow the f**k down on that one

I've only seen the videos on Youtube, but I can say that I hate him. I don't like his style at all! The way he hits the hi-hat (can't explain it better, but I think you know what I mean) annoys me, and ruin many of the songs. And some songs sounds too fast. Not sure if that's all his fault, though.

he plays drums like a monkey would, banging coconuts. Though I love the rockier version to TIOBI, it is faster and heavier.

He's played with enough top acts to suggest that clearly he's good enough, some people are just hung up on his style.

i think jeremy stacey is an excellent drummer. he's played with a ton of people at a high level in the music industry for many years. surely, that speaks for itself.

He has a lovely drum sound. I love his High Tom and Snare sounds. The sheer gun shot from the snare live was brilliant! He tends to play things a bit fast but I have no problem with his drumming aside from that.

The songs are sped up to Noel's demand i reckon, that way his voice is more rocking. It's a trick when you dont have "real" rock n roll voice, like, say, Liam.
And to answer the poll: he's excellent, way better than the past few drummers Oasis had. Pounding yet subtle and sharp. Great drummer.

i think he lends himself well to the material, both old and new. he is a bit more heavy handed than what i expected noel to employ as a drummer. having said that, i like it. these songs lend themselves to a more bare-bones style. it's not like he needs to be flying around the kit a la keith moon or ginger baker.

I quite like him honestly, judging from the live performances on TV and from the youtube videos.

he rushes every song. TIOBI, DLBIA, even the ones he drummed on the album on. Little by little is even too fast...

he's not rushing anything. the songs (at least some of them) are likely being played to a click track. the tempos are a little faster than the record but that is obviously noel's call. you people will complain about anything.

i'm sorry but i don't know if all the songs are to a click track. he isn't wearing IEM (earbuds) like sharrock did, and he seems to be counting off the songs on his own, so the tempo changes would likely be due to him. whoevers fault it is, the songs are being played too damn fast...

Good drummer, not a fan of his style. Everything is rushed for the most part, don't know if Noel wants them played faster or what, but I can only assume it's him since this is the only time we've ever heard these songs with this band. Sharrock NEVER rushed, always kept a perfect tempo.

him counting in the songs is actually more proof that they are using click tracks. standard practice is that only the drummer has the click track in his monitors, thus he counts the band in.
its just my opinion, but i like the songs being played a little faster. they are pretty mid tempo on record and that doesn't always make for an exciting live show.
also, do you really think noel isn't dictating a detail like this. it seems extremely unlikely that after weeks of rehearsal noel would allow the drummer to play songs at a tempo he didn't want.
