I've been seeing a lot of comments saying they enjoyed the album but would have loved it more if Liam was singing whereas I think the album wouldn't have been as good if Liam was singing.
These tracks seem much more suited to Noel's voice and while I enjoy Liam's voice I feel it couldn't do a song like AKA...Broken Arrow or The Death Of You And Me justice.

Concurred my friend, Noel is sounding fantastic, i don't miss Liam's voice at all on this record, Noel's really put alot of effort into his vocal ability on NGHFB.

It's great being able to go to a gig and not having to cringe at the singer's voice anymore.
It's also great not having to make up excuses for crap vocals. "He's got a throat infection"

"He's got a throat infection" Sorry but we don't have any experience of Noel singing an entire tour, we'll see in some months if his voice is still perfect. And according to dublin's gig, his voice is hard to hear with the mic mixing. So please stop attacking Liam all the time. And yes, a song like Everybody's on the run would have been much better with liam's voice, but Noel's done a good job on it anyway.

Noel is a much better singer anyway.
Liam still has the voice though. Although that's slowly dying a brutal death

The only place I miss Liam's voice is on The Good Rebel, I've always preferred Noel's voice ALWAYS

Some people prefer noel's voice...But for me it's impossible. Liam has the best voice i've heard in my life. He's a great singer and a great frontman. His voice is 1995 was pure perfection. And even if his voice is less great now, it's still very good. Noel is ok, but he's not a great singer, he's a good singer now and he's better than in 1995, but there 's no comparison with Liam.

I agreed with you up until seeing them on their DBTT tour. Liam's voice was so bad and Noel voice sounded so good, I began thinking that it would be so much better if Noel just sung all the songs. Liam was just butchering them all. The DOYS tour did not change my mind. Noel's initial tour is so short I don't think losing his voice will be an issue. He has to sing at like 12-14 gigs? Not much of a test

Not much of a test Yes you're right, the real test will be next year. As for liam's voice on 2005, i saw 4 shows and the voice was there. In 2008, it's true it wasn't great. But i saw him with beady eye last march and the voice was back there. But you know, i've always thought Noel was great in accoustic and he sang very good on the Doys tour but I don't like it when he pushes his voice too much like on the dream on refrain.

I don't love Noels voice but I don't dislike it either. It's just nothing special. As for Liam: Liam has the best voice i've heard in my life. He's a great singer and a great frontman. I don't miss Liam on the NGHFB album, cause the songs are well crafted and produced and Noel is singing great. But I'm sure song of these songs would/could sound even better with Liam singing them!

The only song on the album that smacks of Liam to me is Dream On.
Noel isn't perfect live though, there are a number of songs where he is barely audible, whether that be from poor mixing, because his voice isn't powerful enough, or a combination of both. Little By Little pretty much whenever it's been played (haven't listened to the Dublin video yet) and What A Life on Jonathan Ross, for example.
Noel is the better singer but Liam still has the better voice.

You say tomato I say tomatoe. There's two guys whose voice we all love. Some like Liam others prefer Noel. No right no wrong. Liam had an unsurpassable voice back in the day, Noel has a good voice now. What are we to do? You can't really compare them. Liam's voice has always been something special, he sings rock and roll. Noel sounds good in his HFB album however his voice is more suited for soft ballads type of music. I can't really see him belting out rockers, just like I can't really picture Liam doing acousticy type songs. Everyone does go on that Noel's the better singer, but take into consideration he's an older man that probably isn't finishing an hour long show and going out boozing drugging yelling talking all night long like Liam was for 15yrs. Noel probably finishes gigs and goes back home to play with his kids or call his lady on the phone or something. Wonder tow things; how Liam's voice would sound today if back in the day he'd not of party sooo much to fuck up his voice and what would Noel's voice sound like now if he'd of been the singer then?

I think toward the end of Oasis, the fun was gone for both Liam and Noel. I agree, at the BE show I saw, Liam's voice was so much better than 2008 Oasis. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that he's enjoying himself again. Can't wait to see Noel live - I love his voice too. He's got this raw passion in his voice. We'll see if he's having as much fun live post-Oasis as Liam is...

I don't think Liam will still be happy if Noel's playing arena's and BDI are still playing small venues. But then again, Noel is playing arena beacause of the oasis songs. His album may be brillant, it isn't enought to play arenas. If Liam decides to play oasis song, the beady eye would go to bigger venues too. It's another debat, but I think Liam should feel allowed to play songs like supersonic or rock n roll star because he was their spirit. he fact is Liam won't play them because Noel wrote them and Noel won't play them because Liam sang them so well, he doesn't want the comparision. So we're stuck with an accoustic supersonic for the rest of our lives ? I would agree that Noel would not play arenas without the 8-9 Oasis songs in his set. But Beady Eye would still not play arenas even if they played Oasis songs. As it stands, they could play bigger venues, but not arenas. Noel's record sales show he has a significantly bigger audience for his new music (in the UK). Liam should sing whatever songs he wants, really. As I said in another thread, I think he should throw in mostly songs LAG wrote, with a few Noel sung ones thrown in. But there's no reason he can't sing Oasis songs, even those Noel wrote.

And people should notice how limited Noel is in his own repertoire without Liam. He can't sing most of his song, except in accoutic version and it's not always interesting (supersonic). And when the time had come to make a setlist with the songs he's famous for, what did he choose? Little by Little? realy? This proves that Noel didn't had many highlights in oasis. His singing voice didn't count that much. I think the songs that he sang on and that were important are DLBI, TIOBI, Talk tonight, Masterplan,HTWA, Faling down and that's it. How many masterpiece with Liam's voice ? So yes I miss Liam. And i never thought a Noel version of a same song was better than a Liam version.

I couldn't disagree more with this part. I get inspired by a great song. For example, I've got caught up in the moment every one of the 40+ times I've listened to If I Had A Gun... No Beady Eye song has made me feel like that. Some are okay, some are a bit better than that. But none of them make me completely disappear in the moment. But that goes for back in the day as well. If you don't have a good song to sing I won't get wrapped up in the moment. Give me Don't Look Back In Anger over Hey Now! any day of the week.
