Noel is quoted as saying "one legendary Mancunian band goes on ice... the road is open." Oasis on ice, meaning than they haven't split up as far as Noel is concerned ..... they'll be back ) ...... or am i reading to much into this. Imagine this, Stone roses reform, Noel beats mat cardle, Smells like teen spirit gets to number one, Beady eyes 2nd album, Noels second album, Oasis reform and then play a record 5 nights at Knebworth!!! ..... its like the 90s all over again but better Noels album is amazing, it gets better with every listen

They'll never do knebworth, Noel has said in interviews that he regretted doing earls court more than once so knebworth is definitely not going to happen but they would easily sell out a few nights there if they do reform

Why are both Liam and Noel saying they will be back now? They are not saying directly but they are saying it anyway... It's like if they already know.

Does anybody here consider stone roses better than oasis?
What if u had to rate oasis, roses and the smiths
Mines would be
1.oasis 2.stone roses 3.the smiths
I know it's kinda the wrong place for this.

Really hope they get as far as making another album, would be awesome. If all goes well maybe it'll encourage Liam and Noel to bury the hatchet and do the same...

I don't really want to list them but looking at that, I just can't believe that Manchester produced three of the greatest bands of all time in just ten years. Unbelievable.

In the same interview (if I remember correctly) Noel aslo said the MG reunion probably isn't going to happen and that he would do a MG celebration gig on his own in the Royal Albert Hall if he was asked to, so yeah, maybe you're reading too much into this.. Maybe not though..

Eh? 1. Smiths 2.Oasis 3. Stone Roses What's you point? Their is a wide gap between the Smiths and those other Manchester bands in terms of tune quality. Even Noel would agree. Hope this helps.

For me personally it would
1. Oasis 2. Stone Roses 3. The Smiths
I think Musically the Stone Roses were better than Oasis and certainly had more of a groove but Oasis were in my time and the Band I saw 14 times so they are bound to be number 1 in my eyes, Oasis were the voice of a generation as well and massively influential.
The Smiths were well before my time, a clear third on my list.
I shall be getting (hopefully) my tickets for Heaton Park on Friday.

Oasis were better than The Stone Roses, better songs and a better singer. Simples. I don't really like The Smiths so for me don't come close to either.

One major flaw of The Roses is that Ian Brown never has been able to, and probably never will be able to sing live. He's shockin!! So out of tune, it's untrue.

The Stone Roses' debut is better than any Oasis album. However, they only have one more slightly above-average album and some brilliant b-sides, while Oasis had moments of brilliance on each of their albums., ad of course Ian sounds shockingly bad sometimes. On good days he sounds out-of-this world brilliant (Hacienda gig), on bad days you don't want to be anywhere near him singing. The Smiths are nowhere the quality of Oasis and the Roses for me. Yeah, a few nice tunes, a recognisable singer, but nothing as epic as DM or The Stone Roses. Just my opinion - I don't see any Smiths tunes with melodies as good as the ones on these two albums. Anyway, the Roses reuniting really makes me hope that Noel and Liam will think about it too. Let's see how successfull the Roses reunion tour is.

never quite understood the stone roses. their debut is very good, no doubt about that. but it's not as good as the british press thinks. the second coming was bullshit, thats for sure.
and i don't think that outside the uk many people care about this reunion. the stone roses are more a british thing

It's a Classic album with some great, great songs. Give it another listen man.

It´s ok if they want to reform in 2015, meanwhile I wouldn´t mind more records from Beady Eye and HFB.
