Rounded UK sales up to Midnight last night: Noel 55,000 Cardle 28,000 Noel 100% guaranteed #1 Great sales for Noel, will get over 100k Could Candell fella not have a big boost Saturday if they get him on X-Factor again? Guess what I'm saying is how can you know it's 100% guaranteed? A lead that big (percentage wise) is just about impossible to overcome. There's almost no chance that Matt Cardle fans are that much more slack in pre-ordering/buying the record on the first day. They probably ARE more slack than Noel's fans. But not enough to make up a difference of twice as many copies. Maybe if Noel were only ahead by 10-20 percent or so, Cardle could make up the difference with supermarket sales, etc. But Noel's ahead by 100 percent...

Guess what I'm saying is how can you know it's 100% guaranteed? He's already been on X-factor last week. I wouldn't expect they will put him on 2 weeks in a row. These are the sales for Cardle post x-factor boost. Noel would probably be leading by more if Cardle hadn't been on X-factor. If an x-factor contestant looks like it is going to disappoint they don't sacrifice the shows ratings to try and boost them. They need to validate their show by having legitimately popular artists on their show. For Noel to lose at this point his sales would have the dry up completely and Matt Cardle's would have to significantly increase as he won't have the presales boost on the second half of the week. It'll take more than an x-factor spot.

Plus Noel could get a big boost in sales on saturday night from all the people staying in to watch X factor then Jonathan Ross straight after on the same channel.
I think alot of the women watching X factor then Wossy could easily be charmed by Noel and look into his album, i know when i showed a few interviews of Noel on youtube to my ex girlfriend and their mates they fell in love with him.

What i have found with women regarding Oasis / Noel / Liam is that almost 100% of them prefer Noel and say things like "he's cute Noel" or "he's so charasmatic" etc They see Liam as the big bad wolf thus making them warm to Noel even more, so i think he will pick up a few new female fans from wossy on sat.

My wife is in love with Noel. Thinks Liam is ridiculous. I could not get her out to the Beady Eye concert in Toronto this year, but she is coming to Massey Hall with me on the 7th. Might have to keep an eye on her.

This will definitely end a lot closer than it is now.
Noel will clinch it but majority of of cardle's sales will come from a casual fan base, most will be woman and the majority of those (not being sexist) will buy the album in the supermarket when they are doing their weekly shop.
The busiest time for supermarkets are friday and saturday so he will get a lot of his sales then.
I assume the charts end at 11.59pm on saturday night so both the x factor and jonathan ross won't really help either of them.

I have faith in Noel's nice guy persona in contrast to Liam's (unfair on Liam's part as he is a lovely guy really) that he will pick up alot of the casual male / female fans in the supermarkets at the weekend,
Oasis is still a massive brand in the UK and you can bet your average woman will think "i loved alot of their music, but Liam was a dick, Noel album? Hmm he was the nice one that wrote all the songs, i might check that out"
Well not all of them, but there will be a fair few thinking that way

Pre-orders and first day sales have always been Oasis's, "and now BDI NOEL" strongest point. The sales tend to drop massively after the first day. But Noel still has a massive lead and for Matt to overtake. Basically Noels album will have to be deleted from all stores/itunes/amazon etc..etc. by the end of the week Noel should clear 100k sales, and Matt probably round 80k(tops).

Noel will take it because the lead is just too big. I don't care how many housewives are swimming around the malls on the weekend. Enough will pick up Noel's album as well/instead to quell the Cardle tide. I doubt Noel will clear 100K in sales. Kasabian was over 60 K at the same time as Noel is at 55K and they only brought in 90K. I see Noel around that level as well, maybe a little less

I read Kasabian 66K at midweek of their debut. Ended up @ 94K I thought Kasabian was at 66K on Tuesday morning, same as Noel (they call it "midweek" on Tuesday as well, no?). Correct me if I am wrong. The more relevant comparison is where Beady Eye was on Tuesday morning. Considering the huge overlap of fans/buying tendencies, we could probably extrapolate Noel's end of week sales quite well.

Noel could really do with a primetime viewing TV appearance before the weekend in the UK, i wonder what the hell went on with Daybreak?
He has done a shed load of radio albeit mostly London stations, would love to see him on TV before wossy on sat, i think that would be the clincher for sure

Still, would be good for the country to know they can take a punt on one of the finest songwriters Britain has to offer for £3.99 this week.

Ah yes i was looking for another word, i do know what prime time means, and for the latter he could easily go on "the one show" they always have artists on there. I obviously meant a show with a major viewing audience, and as i say i wonder why he pulled out of Daybreak

Yeah but as i stated a few posts before, it would be more constructive sales wise to also get a TV appearance in before the weekend, jonathan ross will help, but as someone stated earlier the charts finish literally a few hours after his show.
Looks like he is gonna do it anyway, i have been getting a few txts from mates that are average oasis fans saying how they think the album is amazing, good omen

Yeah, his old show was called "friday night with Jonathan Ross" on the BBC, it still throws a few people that its saturday now, i even didn't pick up on the friday night on wossy comment, even though i knew its sat now.
Also his show has become considerably shitter

Ahhh...Oh well. Hopefully he can stay #2 when the Coldplay album drops. Why does anyone think that this weeks X-factor will boost Cardle's sales anyways? Noel is ON Jonathan Ross...Cardle isn't ON the X-Factor. Presumably his X-factor bump should have happened at the beginning of this week shouldn't it have? Seeing as he was on it last week and isn't on it this week?
Really it doesn't matter how much Noel wins #1 by...it'll actually be better if it hangs around towards the top of the chart longer I would think
Chart check iTunes #1, #2 (Cardle #3,#24) So he is continuing the outsell him 2-1 on iTunes. HMV #1 (Cardle #2) Play.com #1, #8 (Cardle #11, #22) So probably outselling him significantly there as well. Amazon #2 (Cardle #4)
There is no way Cardle is gonna get ahead. We're 3 days from week end and Cardle hasn't popped ahead on Noel an any of the charts that we can follow and his 3 day sales are half that of Noel's. Unless he is selling 100K at the supermarkets....
