Well something is helping Noel out over the competition. Maybe EOTR is paying for itself in maintaining album sales.
Record is up 12 places to #22 this week.

Apparently the album sales in the UK hit a new low. I think there has been a lot of Olympic watching and not so much music buying

It's only one place behind Coldplay's album now. That's truly astonishing

Someone summed it up why would You buy a Single off a already released Album and download or rip the B-Side anyway? fuck the Singles chart it means fuck all these days. I'd rather a Number One Album and its My field of Music who is scoring these number One's example,Wiley-Heatwave etc so I know the singles chart means fuck all

To right a number one album is more important

and this is coming from someone inside that genre of Music that is dominating the charts. Number One Album means everything, number One single means fuck all. Just like Id rather a Ivor Novello than a joke award

Surprised Dream On outperformed EOTR and IIHAG, it's the only song I don't like on the album.
If IIHAG could only get to 95, with the mighty Gallagher name behind it, what hope is there for the rest of us?

If IIHAG could only get to 95, with the mighty Gallagher name behind it, what hope is there for the rest of us? IIHAG's low charting was because of a pretty poor release. The b-side and a-side has already been released for a almost a full 2 months before the UK portion of the single came out. Anyone who wanted the b-side already had it. If he had had the UK single release date in the same same week as the US', then IIHAG would have been at least a Top 20 hit.

Plus it was THE most competitive week in the year for the singles chart that IIHAG was released.
Noel just cant compete with that.

A great song doesn't always make the best single. I like Broken Arrow, but I don't think it's catchy enough to be a single. I think it's just a very good album track.

Yeah and its good to have good songs that are little gems on the album that are not singles, that's why I think Noel should have left everybody's on the run for the album

Never mind. Noel actually did have a sales boost last week. It wasn't just everyone else dropping off more.

it's number 8 at Asda: direct.asda.com/Music/3701,default,sc.html?utm_source=asdacom&utm_medium=internal&utm_term=nav-ents-music&utm_content=ad-homepage&utm_campaign=internal&cm_mmc=internal-asdacom-_-ad-_-homepage-_-nav-ents-music Stunned to be honest! Edit: It's on 33rd place at Amazon with it being 379 days in the top 100.
