Squire need to fund his art supplies?
I hope they reform. But will they reform for just some concerts, or maybe a new album? I hope both!

Would love it if they did a big tour...but I don't think a new album would be a good idea. That's part of the Roses' greatness...they released one epic album, one good album and called it a day.

I would like to see this happen - here are the reasons. I wouldn't want bands like The Smiths to reunite, thinking about it more I think it would be a bad idea. Everything The Smiths did and released was great - so when they split up they had a massive legacy there, and I doubt a reunion tour would live up to that legacy (though I would love to see them reunite for something like a documentary where they all speak about their experience).
The Stone Roses Second Coming wasn't that great at all - a nothing album compared to their previous work. Plus, after that it got worse, as it all ended very badly with poor gigs and the members bit by bit leaving so in a sense I think they have unfinished business. I for one hope it happens.

People say they don't want them to ruin their legacy, but surely they would rather the final chapter was triumphant homecoming gigs rather than remained Reading '96 (shudder) for all eternity?

As long as they acknowledge the US exists, unlike Blur and Pulp, I'll be happy with it. I realize there isn't that big of a market for those reunion tours here, but surely there is more of a demand than they thought.

The Stone Roses have confirmed they have reunited at a press conference this afternoon (October 18).
The original line-up - frontman Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and drummer Reni -announced the news at the conference at London's Soho Hotel at 3pm (GMT) this afternoon where they revealed plans for two homecoming gigs at Heaton Park on June 29-30 next year.
They also revealed they are working on new material and intend to perform some at the shows. When asked if the band were working on a new album Brown said: "We hope so. But we said that before didn't we?"www.nme.com/news/the-stone-roses/59869

So it's official: there will be two shows at Manchester's Heaton Park on June 29th and 30th, followed by a world tour. And the best bit? The Stone Roses will be playing NEW SONGS!
