This song reminds me of why I love Noel Gallagher (not that I had forgotten  ). It's the sort of song I love the most from him...absolutely love it. We've heard a few songs now, seen the promotion/advertising evolving...the album is not even out yet and I'm only starting to realise all the effort Noel has put into this and what a beautiful set of songs he has put together for us. I'm so excited about the album. I do hope people will like it, he deserves it. |

...Just spend over an hour trying to buy 'Alone on the Rope' and/or "I'd pick you..." No dice. How the fuck is one supposed to purchase said mp3s if you are not Japanese or British... I've tried to do the right thing as well (after all they're not exactly asking alot of money for each song on either amazon or itunes) but each time I've been told I'm not allowed to buy the tracks. In the end I gave up and picked them up from youtube or elsewhere. It's just a ridiculous situation and I wonder if Noel (and other artists similarly affected) realise this idiocy is going on. |

I like the fact that there is a song that appeared unexpectedly... I am happy that after all those years of regular leaking routine we have a song that nobody knew about before, and the song is so beautiful... It is like a difference between going to the cinema after seeing all trailers and reading all reviews and going to the cinema without knowing what is the movie about and finding out that it is probably the best movie of the year...so far:)

I really like the song, though you can see some effort in Noel´s music, there is also some familiar dissapointment.

This wouldn't sound out of place on Coldplay's Parachutes album. And I mean that as a compliment.
As one member already said, they're something really hypnotic about it.
It also has a Teotihuacan feel to it

i hate the fact its not in his new album.
what a beautiful/class A' tune.
sounds -like many people said before- like a track from Coldplay's "parachutes" (=a great debut) but it also has a vibe taken from 80s ballads!!!
congrats Noel for :
-that great tune
-that great surprise
& oh well...
-for keeping out of your albums tunes like this and (probably) losing the perfect 10/10 verdict...

I could get used to this ! Just new songs suddenly popping up ! As someone else cleverly said earlier i reckon its released so its another tune to play during his set.
But otherwise its super weird promotion.
As for the song, not the best i've heard but a good b side, something slightly different, very Radiohead-ish. Reminds me 'slightly' of that slow Kings of Leon opener (before they went crap), Knocked up. Just a bit of a 'plodder' song

I've listened to it a couple of times now and this must be my favourite new Noel song as of yet.

whatever, it's another new tune. To my ears it sounds very, very like Doves, as indeed does WAL. Just imagine Jimi Goodwin singing them.

I posted a link on the NG.com forum to the song on Youtube on Saturday night.
The post was removed on Sunday and now they've removed the whole thread today!
