i don't know about you, but at my school, i hear people humming or singing champagne supernova and/or wonderwall. this is starting to piss the shit out of me, cause where the hell have they been for the past 7 years? i guess it's now starting to be kinda cool to listen to these songs just because it was in a cheeky television show made for 12 year olds.
what pisses me off the most is that since i'm in a wealthy neighborhood, they get the best seats to these concerts, yet they couldn't tell the difference between don't look back in anger and some might say (more or less- that's the only album most of them own). most of them think that they reunited and are making their first album since morning glory (which is also annoying, considering that hc was a top album and would have been considered genius if it hadn't been by oasis, same with bhn and sotsog). while it's great that they're starting to get a good rep here again (it's about fuckin time), i think it's cheating the real fans (like the ones on this board) out of the best tickets just because it's some fad.
god bless america.

I know what your talking about, since I wear oasis on my sleeve all the people round my way at school always ask me which album champagne supernova is on(so they can go ripp off that one song off the internet)
But I've shown alot of people 'heathen chemistry' and they usually love it. but you can't hold them up for it. I found out about oasis in 2000 after watching 'oasis behind the music,' that's what got me hooked!
keep the faith and they will come back

All of my friends know I am an Oasis nut and I make sure they are aware of all of their other albums beyond DM and WTSMG. The thing is, I don't know if I can blame them for not knowing of the later albums. I blame the radio stations for selling out and playing the latest Brtiney Spears shitty single and such. In the US, teen pop music has completely taken over the radio. Therefore, no one is exposed to real artists and rock n rollers like Oasis. And if the radio does slip in an Oasis song, it is Wonderwall. It is a great song but they need to expose listeners to all the facets of Oasis.

I know what you lot feel like, I come in to school with my Oasis album (depends which one is closest to me) and this one day it just so happened that I had Morning Glory? on and was listening to Wonderwall and my friend came over and wanted to listen to whatever I was listening to, so she goes, "AWWWW, I LOVE THIS SONG!!" in a very high, squeaky and girlish manor, so I go, "do you like this song?" ***Dont Look Back In Anger*** And she goes "YEAH, THIS IS GREAT SONG!!" again in a squeaky voice in which only she can do. So I say, "hey, I'm impressed, you mad for it!!??" and she looked at me in bemusement, so I had to say, "do you like Oasis?" and she said "No, I just like these songs" which is a reply which makes me want to gauge my eyes out, so I just had to say "Well,...you like Wonderwall,...and Dont Look Back In Anger, and they are songs done by Oasis, so in a way, you like Oasis." And after that she said what only she could say, "No,...I just like these songs!"

Yea man I know what ya mean. Those kid of people just follow the masses like cattle and don't really have any musical taste. They idolize trends and fads that won't be around in 2 months and just continue to drain the life out of real music. But really in fact they don't listen to music they just watch entertainers, I think Noel put it best when he said in a comment about popstars (american idol here in the states) that if some kid stands to make a million quid rather than working at tescos than by all means do it but don't call it music. And thats what most of these posers want entertainment not music.

I know what ya mean with the poser fans, I was playn' football in the middle of the street and one of my mates started humming CS, so I tried to ask him about Oasis but hell the fuck didn't even know who sung the song.

It's really annoying, on a non-uniform day at school i was wearing a Stone Roses shirt and these two girls (must be in year 8) cam up to me (in typical 'grunge' clothes)... it's not Grunge at all but kids think it is.
They came up to me and goe 'oh when does their album come out?'
I asked what the fuck they were on about and they asked when The Stone Roses are gonna release their next album and told me they were gonna get '40 licks' (the Rolling Stones Album)
I told put them straight on that (and the fact they thought The Stone Roses were a band similiar to Rancid or some shite like that)
they then asked who else i liked and i said Oasis... they replied 'Oh i like Wonderwall' (then sing the chorus) and asked me if i liked Rasmus
the only polite thing i could think of was 'fuck off'

it's not about the humming of it... it's just that they know people who give them front row seats and such and all we, the fans, get are ok seats. even with the presales.

You know what I agree that hearing people say (when they see your Oasis shirt on your back) oh yeah i like Oasis, that CD with Wonderwall is in my car right now... kinda gets at you a little, but come on people! Stop your crying. To me people who take pride in being a huge fan of something is more pathetic then those who are just casual fans int he first place. I feel like people want too badly to say they know more about certain bands or they like them better. These people are worse then your "posers". How can you seriously be mad at somebody for liking Oasis, who cares if its not as much as all of us here. You can't tell me you are not a casual fan of some other bands as these folks are with Oasis. We all know Oasis is the best band in the world so next time someone says "oh yeah I love that Wonderwall song" please don't lash out, looking like a fool saying "OH JEES you have no idea, you aren't a real fan like I am..."(which by the way makes us all look like fools). Instead try responding with something like "Yeah man, you should really take a listen to other things. I'll make you a mixed CD and listen. (YOU KNOW if you do that then it will soon lead to 7 more LP sales for Oasis).
As the man says... "I just wanna make some fuckin music man, d'you know what I mean?"
cheers!

It always goads me that when Im at a party and the inevitable guitar finds it way out into the open... no matter that quite a few of my mates hate or that others say they dont like Oasis...I strum the opening chords to DLBIA, Wonderwall, Half The World Away, Stand By Me, Live Forever or the Riff to Cigs and Alcohol and they are all singing along. Which would be fine if they didnt insist they hated Oasis. Wankers

I think it'd be shit if EVERYONE was into Oasis. You'd never get a fucking ticket to a gig for a start! Its common knowledge to my mates / work collegues / family that i'm an Oasis fan but i dont go around going "turn that song off, put some Oasis on!". Im a music fan at the end of the day, and i'll listen to anything once. I think its sad when people relate Oasis to Wonderwall, but sometimes its even sadder when people go "you aren't a real fan like me" . As Polska said, give them a mix cd and hopefully they'll realise what proper music is. Spread the word but dont preach
