Look at the end of Part 1, he's not 100% sure about his decision to leave anymore.
Then here in Part 2, he says he doesn't even know why he left that night anymore.

he left the way he always did before. but i think he knew that it was over that time. there was no coming back and i think it was the best decision
i'm sure everybody regrets it a bit. but in the same way everybodys knows that the band is over.

From what we've seen so far, it seems that Liam is 100% sure it was the right thing to do, and he's definitely enjoying being in Beady Eye more than the last years in Oasis. Noel, on the other hand, has a massive album to play, but I'm really surprised how nervous he is about his solo career. If anyone is going to ponder a reunion (which I'm 99% sure is not going to happen), it's Noel.

I think one day, Liam and Noel may have to make up... There'll be something happen and they have to talk to each other... Then, maybe, they'll get talking about the glory days again and they might go "fuck it, we can rule the world again. Let's do it"... Here's to hoping!

It's best for everyone because we will get two album's every 2 years instead of one every 3. I think Noel is nervous because he has never been a frontman before so isn't sure how he'll take to it.

Noel made a rash decision in the heat of the moment. His mistake wasn't walking out of the Paris gig. While unprofessional and not fair to the fans, we've all grown to expect the occasional Oasis gig cancellation due to a brotherly squabble.
The mistake he made, though, was releasing the statement only a mere couple hours later saying that Oasis was over. Once he released that, it would be almost impossible for him to back track without looking and feeling embarrassed, and with maintaining credibility. With him being a man of principle, it would also be hard to reverse that decision, no matter how he really felt deep inside.
What Noel should have done is walk off of the Paris gig and not say a word until cooler heads prevailed. He has pretty much already acknowledged this mistake in a few interviews this past year. This, to me, clearly shows that he didn't want Oasis to end then. Even when he tries to spin it by saying that Oasis reached it's end goal with DOYS; he knows that is bollocks.
He made a decision based on intense emotions. Emotions are never rational. Therein lies the mistake.
As for Liam, I honestly don't think he thinks it was good Oasis ended, either. Frankly, I think he's putting on a facade at times regarding the split, saying Oasis is done forever. Moreover, the anger we see directed at Noel I think has more to do with Oasis being finished (and Noel's walk out being the cause) than about the lingering aspects of the actual fight that night.
I don't think Liam forgives Noel for ending Oasis. I think Liam wanted Oasis to continue. I think Noel wanted Oasis to continue. But both are too stubborn and principled to go back on their words that "Oasis is finished."

You're oversimplifying.
I don't think Noel has any regrets as far as the recording process is concerned. I think it is clear from his interviews that he is more than happy to record his own songs and sing them without Liam. No regrets there. With the caveat that he misses Gem a bit in the studio.
I think it is clear that Noel is uncomfortable with leading a band onstage. He certainly has some regrets there, and I think he misses having Liam out there singing most of the songs, attracting most of the attention onstage.
He misses Oasis the tour band. He does not miss Oasis the recording entity or Oasis the functioning unit.

Knebworth DVD and Morning Glory tour in 2015 has already been fucking agreed, thats as clear as day. No need for any new material then, people will just want the hits, a good night out and it will be. But for now am happy the way were getting Noels albums and Liams, keep a steady flow till then and a big fuck off re-union when everyones pining to hear rock and roll star again
Personally i couldnt give a fuck right now if they never tour again, ive had my fun seeing them 10 times since the 90's. Its over for me but in a few years time i along with everyone on here wont be able to resist going

And to say Liam has no regrets is naive. I think Liam clearly misses Oasis' success. He would be too proud to say it, but I'm sure he would prefer if what happened in Paris could be reversed.

The only reasons Noel is having regrets is because he has to put in even more work now and he knows there won't be as much money involved. Money will eventually bring them back together. Beady Eye playing their little gigs and Noel doing his...they will both eventually look at where they are and know in the backs of their minds that they could be playing to 60,000 people instead of 3,000. Cha-ching!
That's it to me. Noel is constantly talking about how there's no show to see when you come see him. He's doing everything he can to temper expectations so people aren't disappointed and he can get away with doing the bare minimum.
At the end if the day its a job for them. If you have an opportunity to do the exact same job and make $50,000 or $1,000,000. Which would you choose?

This was supposed to be an answer to a post by spaneli which has mysteriously vanished ^It all depends on two things: 1. How Noel will do as a frontman - if he starts enjoying it and his albums sell well (which they probably will), there's no need for him to reunite with Liam. And 2. BDI's second album - will they realise their full potential and top DGSS or is this as good as it gets for them? If the latter is true, Liam won't be happy for too long. We will see where the two stand in a few years. 2015 reunion to go with the MG anniversary issue would be awesome.

Noel, on the other hand, has a massive album to play, but I'm really surprised how nervous he is about his solo career. If anyone is going to ponder a reunion (which I'm 99% sure is not going to happen), it's Noel. If I had to put my money on someone. It would be Liam. If Noel were to go out and be good as a frontman, then he'd probably stop moaning about how he's never done it and how this is a new experience for him. Him moaning about being a frontman and regretting how to quite Oasis will probably stop after he's gotten a good bulk of shows under his belt. On the other hand though, it seems as if Beady Eye are a niche act, whose niche is getting smaller and smaller by tour. If Noel is good live, and also has the songs that I think he has, then I don't see him being a niche act. That's not to say that I believe he'll be big. But I do believe that he can he hold his own and somewhat expand his audience. And unfortunately, I just can't see Beady Eye becoming more popular than they are now. I really do just see them as a niche act. Something only hardcore Oasis fans will be able to appreciate. Which is not a bad thing, if you can sustain it, and keep them coming back. The problem is if they release a second album whose quality of songs aren't better than that which are on DGSS. Then the question is: will there be an audience willing to pay to see them again, if they've already seen them on the previous tour? I think that Noel has the biggest factor working against him, while Beady Eye has the largest number of factors working against them. For Noel, it is basically him nailing the live act. And I think that answer may come pretty quickly. Much like Liam's songwriting was compared to Noel's, Noel's "showmanship"will be compared to Liam's. I think if Noel can just hold his own, he'll be okay. But on the other hand, Beady Eye have the factors of a dwindling/limited audience and middling songs holding them back. There won't be answers to those two for about a year. I think those two may be the hardest to fix in the longrun. Good post, Spaneli. I certainly hope that BDI are not a niche act, but I fear that you're right. It would be a shame for Liam to go out that way if Oasis never do reform. 2015 is the line in the sand, I think. If the group doesn't reform for the 20th anniversary of MG, that will be the final nail in the coffin. I think Noel will enjoy being a frontman for a little while, but eventually he'll tire of being the guy in the middle of the stage. That's when he'll either disappear for a while like he's talked about in interviews or attempt to reform Oasis. As he's said before, the touring and interviews aren't going to be much more work for him since he did the lion's share of the interviews before and did all the soundchecking, etc.

if Oasis continued by 2013 we'd have had 1 new album, due to the split we'll have had 4.
If Gem was part of the NGHFB set up i think Noel would seem alot more upbeat about the situation tbh

I think Noel summarized his feelings perfectly on the Kevin and Bean show. He loved being in that group but in hindsight it was the best thing that could have happened for everyone.
I think that Oasis were never really meant to be what they became.
The whole democracy thing was nice in theory. But the fact is that Noel always got the last say and I think that despite what the others says they resented that. I don't think that Andy and Liam ever really got the recognition and control that they wanted and when they did Noel resented it a bit. Like when they put the Lennon outtake in IOT. On the documentary you can tell Noel thought it wasn't a good idea but he let it go anyways because Liam wanted it.
Noel brought Andy and Gem in when he was running out of inspiration so that he didn't have to carry the songwriting. But I think at around DBTT when Noel rediscovered his love of writing and during DOYS when he hit his purple patch he began to resent the actions he had taken to change the dynamic of the band. I think that for HC he couldn't have filled out the album well with good songs which is why he so wanted other songwriters. But I think that for maybe for DBTT and very likely for DOYS Noel could have written the whole album and would have preferred it. DOYS, i think would have been better for it. But the quota system was already in place. To have no Andy or Gem songs would have been a slight and to reduce the number of Liam song would have been insulting.
I think Noel misses Oasis in theory. But I think he doesn't actually miss them like he should to reunite. He's put Oasis on a pedestal like he always did. Ctmazin has a great point about him missing Oasis the touring band as opposed to Oasis as a functional unit in the studio.
He had a quote around the time of the last album that he missed uncertainty. "nothing has happened to me in the past year that hasn't happened in the past 5 years" or something like that. He said he missed the days at the beginning when he didn't know where the albums and singles would chart how much they would sell and what the gigs would be like.
I think that if he gets a good reception from his live shows and he knows that the album is received decently critically and commercially he'll lose a bit of the nerves.
You've got to give the guy a break. He hasn't been unsure about anything in his career for over a decade and a half. I think he is having a crisis of wishing for that security again.

Also, throw in the fact that Noel said in a recent interview that he doesn't have a great voice. We all know Noel has a great voice but not suited for Rock n Roll. He wants Liam to sing his songs still and he misses that aspect which was Oasis.

I have absolutely no doubt that Oasis will get back on stage.
Noel and Beady Eye are two sides of a brilliant coin. The reviewers are all basically saying on one side you have the tight, energetic Beady Eye unit with the superstar showman, and on the other, the best songs from the best melodist in the last thirty years.
On paper, they're a fantastic combination, and that's why they were the best band in the world. And especially being brothers, the temptation to step back up to the top table will one day win out!

On the other hand Oasis wasn't making them reliably more together than they are separate.
Liam is singing better and trying harder with BDI than he has for Oasis for a decade.
And Noel didn't get to write the entirety of the Oasis album anymore. He didn't get to be the sole artistic director of the band anymore.
It sounds great on paper. But I think it actually stopped working for them in actuality to a certain extent.
