On the other hand Oasis wasn't making them reliably more together than they are separate. Liam is singing better and trying harder with BDI than he has for Oasis for a decade. And Noel didn't get to write the entirety of the Oasis album anymore. He didn't get to be the sole artistic director of the band anymore. It sounds great on paper. But I think it actually stopped working for them in actuality to a certain extent. Absolutely, absolutely agree - but will the idea of Wembley Stadium and THOSE opening notes to Rock & Roll Star overcome that in time? I'd bet so. |

I'd like to see Noel team up with Richard Ashcroft. Not necessarily songwriting-wise, but I bet Ashcroft could absolutely nail some Noel tunes. Would be an interesting collaboration to say the least.

Yeah he's not looking too healthy.
Good thread this anyway. Enjoyed NL4E and gdforever's posts.
Anyway, as much as I LOVE Beady Eye and am excited for Noel's album, I'd have them back in a heartbeat, so he needs to regret it more and then tell Peggy to get to work on Liam.
Nah but seriously, pretty much agree on a 2015 tour, plenty of time to give us a heap of music until then and then we can have the lager swilling stadium events we've all missed so much!

Noel made a rash decision in the heat of the moment. His mistake wasn't walking out of the Paris gig. While unprofessional and not fair to the fans, we've all grown to expect the occasional Oasis gig cancellation due to a brotherly squabble......... Top post fella. Thats how i feel, Noel made a rash decision, that statement came out way too early then it was too late to back down. Liam i'm sure is really gutted about the split, hes trying to give it a go with Beady Eye and is refusing to sing any Oasis songs. Its a huge shame that all of us will never hear some classic Liam sung Oasis songs ever again. Think Noel thinks the same, Noels a great great songwriter, his new album sounds great but i'm sure he misses the magic of the Oasis hits with Liam singing. I hope in time they do get back together. On one hand i'm happy i get to hear a lot more new material, but then gutted that songs like 'if i had a gun' etc dont appear on a new Oasis album. Was Noel 'keeping' them back for a solo album ? Who knows. But its a huge shame Oasis arent together. I still think that after Noels album and Beady Eyes second that they might start talking again and hopefully get back together at some point. Its what the people want, just need the two brothers to sort the issues out. |

and newsflash: Noel had regrets the second the car pulled away from the Paris gig. Duh.
Doesn't mean it wasn't the best decision, still.

I'm sure he misses Liam too, it's his brother after all and they've been with each other for the past 20 years. Noel's a sensitive dude, as is Liam, and the situation must hurt them though they won't admit it.

Noel's a sensitive dude, as is Liam, and the situation must hurt them though they won't admit it. they've been through a lot over the years. i don't think he misses him in the original meaning. i think they're both a bit sad how everythings been finished with oasis. but they're both big boys now. and even if oasis hadn't split, they wouldn't be together all the time. so it's no big deal |
