The iTunes chart isn't as influential as you'd think though: TDOYAM was about #30 in the iTunes chart when it went in at #15 in the 'proper' chart

thats because most oasis / gallagher fans are completists so bought the cd and the vinyl as well.
This isn't the norm with most acts / fans.
plus obviously the cd / vinyl for AKA.. what a life isn't even released yet

Plus it was at number 5 on HMV's Digital chart last time I checked But how many digital singles do they sell every week? I was surprised they sold MP3s! I'd have gone to Amazon or iTunes or from the NGHFB site.

It's charted at number 20! Noel's just been on. Just played a previously aired interview. Actually think it was the press conf. Would have made top 10 if they'd released the physical formats at the same time.

Great to see Noel get a second straight Top 20. It's really amazing when one considers the musical landscape as presently constituted.
Though this is also disappointing because as we all have said, if Noel's team had had a full release, then this probably would've been a Top 10.

Chart position isn't all that important though, sales and airplay are what matter in the long run. It would be nice to see Noel high in the charts but it seems the alternative was waiting a month after the single debuted in the advert for it to be released by which point those who heard of it that way and aren't diehard Noel fans have forgotten about it.

It's not, it's a poor mix of Immigrant song and Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool by the Editors, saying that I doubt even a song like Fire would have charted all that much higher

if you think though its good promotion cos in 2 weeks time it will chart again as it coincides with the album release and physical release, its good marketing by noel and also its begiining to get airplay now, kasabian sell a few albums in the uk but have never been a big singles band and are not as big as people think

As much as i love Kasabian "days are forgotten" is a shite chune, choon, tuuune.........song
I know Serge can do better, thats why im looking forward to listening to the album tomorrow, back on topic WAL is a very good tune IMO but i think apart from IIHAG he has released possibly his weakest tracks thus far (just my opinion of course) cant wait to hear EOTR
