ordered it through NG.com. can't believe i did that(since i hate the song) but hey, gotta support Noel. btw it was obvious this was gonna do better commercially. Why was it obvious? I actually thought that it would have done a fair bit worse than it has. TDOYAM is more suitable to the charts than AKA...WAL! really.

Whats the crack with the BBC radio stations completely boycotting the Gallaghers? I can understand with BDI as the tunes were pretty weak, but its like they have actively turned their backs on Noel, especially when WAL sounds quite contemporary

not saying this is the case but I'm guessing the digital download is to cash in on the vauxhall advert promotion.
As the video, b side, cd and vinyl etc is coming out in just over a month you might find that the song will get play listed nearer then as that seems to be the "official" release date

#17 in the midweeks!
(Technically it's #16 because One Directions B-Side is at #3 and it shouldn't be there)

Jesus Christ why do people even care? Singles are gone and have been for the best part of a decade.

Jesus Christ why do people even care? Singles are gone and have been for the best part of a decade. Single sales are bigger than they ever have been and are increasing year on year.......so no, singles aren't gone Some people are obviously interested. It's why this thread is here.

^^Yeah downloads, it's not the same and it never will be again. I never said 'people aren't interested' I asked why do people care?

Well, with what good music/this music is competing with these days fundamentally makes the competition void for me. I don't care if it's number 1 or 101, if it's good I'll but it. Fuck the charts, look at the state of it. Shocking!

Do they fall out of the sky and land on your lap or do you discover them in the media?

sad to say it but charts is a very important way for people to pay attention to some great bands/albums/tracks. its probably the only reason that still makes me quite care about charts (=even if they are absolutely shit these days and great tracks hardly have any chance to make it)

The Will Young track was sneakily reduced to 59p and jumped above it. Better to have Will Young ahead of him than behind him I suppose He's about to be caught by more behind him unfortunatly too by the looks of it.

good to see it doing well... but the album is more important than singles.

I bought the vinyl with my debit card, so can you. I don't get the option to pay by debit? Only the major creditcards show up. Only thing I can get is TDOYAM single. Not the album either.

It's a shame that WAL couldn't have had a fully planned release on the first time out. Imagine if he had a release with a new b-side, in multiple formats, and the song being featured in a commercial. It would have had a very good chance to crack the Top 10.
