well Noel did use some poem for the lyrics on Go Let It Out but I'm sure he didn't pay anyone for that haha As far as I know that poem is in the public domain. Anyone can use it for free.

Why is this sooo hard to swallow for most of you? artist, do this type of shit ALL THE TIME!!! What sucks is that the ones that buy the tunes, don't have the balls to say so publicly. Now this is not the only song/verse/chorus Noels prob tried to buy, hey at least he tried to pay for it Early Oasis work has a lot of similarities to the Real Peoples self titled debut lp which came out in 91. great great album to listen to if you LOVE early Oasis. If indeed Noel did try to purchase said track from Aziz, who cares. Whether its true or not, I dont know or care, but "dont have the balls" is a complete misnomer. If anyone entered into a deal like this, no doubt there would be non-disclosure agreements and the likes. They wouldnt be able to talk about it. Ive never heard anything like this in regards to Oasis, but this shit has been going on since pop music became a commodity. Shit, the Beach Boys had to pay CHARLES MANSON for a song of theirs thats on the 20/20 record.

isnt the chord progression of merried with children the same as lithium? just try to play both songs on an acoustic. great steal. i think he even admited, he admired cobain (who wouldnt...). actualy i am thinking to start stealing the chords from slide away/wonderwall/doyouknowwhatimean/and at least 10 other noels same songs to make myself a hit. to sing it in bathroom, whatever. nevermind.

Noel's a genius.
Why would he need King Monkey's nobhead sidekick writing shit for him?

Keep on keeping on was originally keep on keeping strong. It's a line I actually like though. I know that, which make it even more perplexing why he didn't at least leave it as it was. "Keep on keeping on" doesn't even make sense. "Keep on keeping on" is a fairly common saying over here in the U.S...

Live Forever Noely G He's ripped from The Beatles, The Kinks, The Las, The Real People, The Stones, Stevie Wonder and The Stranglers, to name but a few. The man has written some great tunes but let's try to be a little objective here...

The Stone Roses have a song featuring the exact same lyric....Daybreak

he "borrowed" a lot of arrangements and lyrics from the real people. cant find the article atm. unfortunately I cant remember remember the exact songs though, but definitely some of oasis early stuff on definitely maybe and a few b sides of the time. I think digsys diner was one of them. but I doubt noel would offer someone money to buy one of his songs and claim it as his own work. he nicked a lot of material in the past and giving the credits never seemed to be a problem. so I think this guy is telling bullshit. Apparently Don't Go Away was nicked from this? That is the most blatant pinch Oasis have done I reckon. Same chords, solo, even nicks lyrics. Cracking tune though. Great song though

I don't believe this, either the guitarist or the guy who told you the story are bullshittin'. I do recall when Noel did the MTV Unplugged gig (I think) he said before a song somethin' like "right gonna play one I wrote myself now" or somethin' like that but there was no covers played at the gig? Wasn't he goading Liam who was giving him some stick from the balcony? Noel was a bit cheesed off because Liam had pulled out with a 'sore throat'. "Right, we're gonna carry on with one *I* wrote." As in, he wrote 'em all. Except Wonderwall, which he bought off a boot sale from a part-time busker in Burscough.

If someone as outspoken and confident as Noel was buying songs, somebody would have come forward by now to take him down in the press. Noel has always borrowed liberally from his influences and whenever he borrowed too much, he's been threatened with legal action (e.g., Stevie Wonder, Gary Glitter, Coca-Cola).
