As much as beadyeyeunofficial is clearly a total idiot, Bring The Light is considerably better than this imo. my god thats the most deluded thing I've heard since i last heard a Liverpool fan talk up there title chances Why is it 'deluded'? I think BTL is sharper has more bite, lots of energy to it. Anyway until the other one mentioned it I wasn't going to say anything about BDI in thread. I just think that the 1:30 clip basically showed all its got. Which is a problem when its over 4 mins. I don't dislike it and its probably my favourite so far.

Bring The Light has no energy whatsoever. Maybe if you were from the 50's. Who cares about light piano and Liam repeating "Baby, Come On" over and over again. WAL has drum solos, guitar solos, sick bass, and a nice loop during the second verse.

don't mind BTL, but WAL is on a different level completely

Apart from the futility and irrelevance of breaking songs down to their individual instuments and comparing them for you to say it has 'no' energy is simply untrue.

Are people really surprised an 1:30 advert showcased the best parts of the song? Do you think they choose the song passage at random?

When you are at a party, you will probably want to play WAL instead of BTL. BTL is suited for 50's-themed middle school dances and private dancing inside your house with your 50-year old wife.

I don't understand why this is a single when EOTR and RM, or STC is sitting in the wings.

So because a song borrows from the 50's you have to be in your 50's to enjoy it? Do you have to be in your 60's? To enjoy the 60's? Fuck me there's some really old people enjoying 90's rave music out there. Better check my Grandad hasn't been listening to Prodigy

Not exactly, but music has changed. I expected a lot more when I first heard Bring The Light. It puts me to sleep.

I'm on board with the people who think this song needs a mother fucking guitar solo. To me, the song is really bland the way it is. Even dancing would become monotonous to this, I would think. I imagine this song will be much more entertaining live and I expect to listen to live performances much more than the album version.

I was enjoying the song, the guitar fill is awesome and was expecting a solo or something in the end but the woohoo's.... Come on Noel you can do better!
I think we can get good remixes of this tune if put on good hands though.

I like it. It doesn't amaze me. 7/10.
It doesn't deserve derision. People need to stop being so precious.
I had high expectations of this and they have fallen short...but my expectations were extremely high. If I heard it on the radio would I turn it off? No. Woud I pay attention? Probably. Do I think it'll be worth buying? Definitely.
I have high expectations of Noel...and I think this song hasn't hurt me expectations in the slightest. It's got energy and drive. I doesn't knock me out...but it's got punch and momentum driving it.
What has impressed by most is the variation on this album so far. I like the fact that every time we get a new tune it's a totally different feel. When I listen to something the first thing that I find myself having to do it get over the preconceptions of previous expectations. And I think that problem is going to carry through for me. IIHAG vs TDOYAM vs AKA...WAL. And EOTR from the fan mixes doesn't feel like any of these. Noel is just bopping all over the place. I'm interested to see how they mesh.
I like that Noel's music is sounding contemporary. It's not all referencing old style rock 'n roll. It does sound fresh...BDI sounded enthusiastic...but fresh? not really.

Love this more on every listen. It's better than Falling Down which is the real valid comparison point for me. Well done Noel.

It's 1 and half minute too long. hope it'll flow with the rest of the record. Other than that, there's nothing to be too excited about really. I bet the Charlatans could sue this one, and i'm usually on the side of the people who dont hear rip offs everywhere.

I think Noel was being self-indulgent here.
Good tune..but he purposefully didn't add stuff as that would be typical Oasis

i like it but it really did feel as if there's some wasted potential. for example, no guitar solo on the album version? it feels as if it needs something to really lift it up, and the closest we have is some 'Woo hoo's
it's all right. but i do like the fact that it's out there, at least.

No solos. I think the fill we're hearing is what the guy was describing when he called it a solo..as he said they were listening over chatty people and he'd had a few drinks by this point, surely. I like the fill and think it'll really stand out of the tune live. This is going to be a massive hit live. I quite like it, but unlike the other 2 album tracks we've heard so far, it's had to grow on me a little. Also, I like BDI and NGHFB. I hate that it seems a crime to like both.
