I would think that HC or DBTT would have been very close to the 3 million mark. It's true that certifications will tell us that it's more likely to be around 2 million, but gold and platinum awards don't seem to be the be all and end all when you look at the top seeling albums in history. I mean, for instance, Thriller, which has supposedly sold 110 million copies, does not have certifications that stack up to anywhere near that amount. Either does Back In Black, Dark Side of the Moon, What's the Story? the list goes on. It's just that since I remember reading in a Records Stastistics Encyclopedia (or something of the sort) that DM had sold 8 million and that BHN had sold 7 million, it would seem likely that at least ONE post 2000s album could have sold at least 3 million, which is less than half of those two. And what's with Argentina/Brazil? Oasis clearly has a huge fan base there but you never see any sales data/certifications coming from there. Stranger than fiction... Please don't tell me you believe Thriller sold 110 million? And the only Oasis album to get near 3 million this century was Stop The Clocks. Also, certifications do come from South America.

Wow I'm shocked to see that the two musicians I value the most have such shitty recent record sales. I can account for dbtt being rubbish because it didn't have a single hit on it. It was just nice sounding tunes really, nothing that took you back to 94-01 sing-a-alongs. DOYS whilst a much much better album in my opinion, just didn't really have a hit track either...TSOTL had potential but a lack of a chorus killed it flat. The boys just didn't really bring it. And I think this HFB album will be different because it will have genuine sing-a-longs on it and i also reckon tracks will be used for movies and potentially FIFA 12. That'll help it crack 3-4 mil plus. I'm personally buying like 5 copies and giving an album to some of my mates to get them into it. Small price to pay for the way Noel makes us feel. Fucking splendid. this poor bastard is delusional.

it didnt take hc/dbtt or stc long to reach a million sales at all, they were all commercially successful round the world an have all reached over 3 million sales, noels album will top a million sales easily but i wouldnt think much more but depends on how he promotes it really
