So whats the prediction? Will that extra 30 seconds have a solo or something different, or more repetition?

I have to admit though, the first 3 songs have been the 3 most simplest song in terms of structuring from Noel in ages.
I love IIHAG and TDOYAM, but I would like to see Noel stretch himself more structural. Even though I know that RM & EOTR are structurally brilliant.

because it's the boring track we heard so far from Noel along with "The Good Rebel" The most uptempo track is the boring one? Crikey I said I prefered it to the other 3 we've heard. Emphasis on the IWAL>IIHAG>TDOYAM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>TGR

A little bit worried here..What a life is just the same over and over, nothing more than an ok track. If I Had a Gun is a good song, but i'm not that happy about the production - for example the heavy guitars in the last chorus are mixed way too loud, it doesn't natural at all. I expected perfection in the production after hearing TDOYAM . We've heard three album tracks and none of them have blown me away - somehow the good rebel is my current favorite..
On top of that Record Machine and Stop The Clocks don't impress med as songs beyond 'very good' . I must admit i expected some of the magic from 95 to shine through on this album, gradually this seems to have been too much to hope for.

I think my high expectations for Noel is killing my judgement.
If Beady Eye had made this, I'd be elated and loving. But for some reason because Noel has made this, I feel a bit underwhelmed.

Piercing guitars link the verse and chorus sections, and right when you least expect it, an honest-to-goodness six-string solo breaks out - and it's a spine-tingler, too. An elongated verse ends the song on an ominous note, but it's one that leaves the listener breathlessly waiting for more.

dont understand the criticism, just had another listen, its a terrific song, just because it doesn't have a guitar solo in everyone goes nuts, move on ffs! It's gonna sound even better when we get a proper rip of it. I think it's great. Love the overall vibe and the vocal melody. Especially the "tiger" line, its fucking fantastic. I like hearing something besides the standard guitar sound. IIHAG is the most disappointing to me thus far. It's still a great song, but the live versions are probably going to shit all over the studio recording. TDOYAM is fantastic, IIHAG is a great song but the studio version is just off and WAL sounds fucking awesome to me. Yeah, it doesn't explode into some mammoth, but not every song has to do that. Can't wait to get it in the car.

So whats the prediction? Will that extra 30 seconds have a solo or something different, or more repetition? why should 30 seconds change a song dramatically? It could. Put a nice 30 second guitar solo in the middle, and it would break up the monotony of the song - which seems to be the main complaint here. If those 30 seconds didn't matter at all, why would Noel have had it in the finished version in the first place?

this was recorded from the radio stream. Its only 3:49, which means its a radio edit. The album version according to amazon.co.uk is 4:24, which means there is still hope for a guitar solo!

Maybe the solo is at second 57....it starts but then, it dissapears.... That's what i'm thinking too. It sounds like there's more to come there. don't think the final version will have that hiccup.
