I have come to the conclusion that that is Noel's worst song in 10 years or so. worse than sitting here in silence on my own and those swollen hand blues? you've got to be kidding me, those 2 are horrendous. unless i'm wrong and they aren't Noel songs. but they're still shockingly bad anyway.

The Good Rebel is a decent tune.

K+ I don't agree with lgfaver, but I find the piling on of him to be a bit worry some. If he doesn't like the song, okay. He doesn't like the song. If you actually feel like he has some unbendable will, or he has it out for Noel, and he dislikes everything, then why are you commenting? So what he has a different opinion, so do you. That's a forum. It's discourse. Not everyone is suppose to like everything. And no one is required to even like somethings. I'm not defending any of lgfaver's points and I don't agree with his evaluation of WAL , but I do feel that people could learn how to communicate their thoughts better without using insults (lgfaver included). To be fair, the reason I got annoyed with him is because he has no understanding of music genres and called people fanboys (once again, did the same for TDOYAM) for liking the track. I'm sorry if it came across that I got annoyed due to him dissing Noel (Which he didn't). That wasn't the case. Heck, I was dissing Noel when he released The Good Rebel. I have come to the conclusion that that is Noel's worst song in 10 years or so. You can't expect someone to get The Death Of You And Me who has never heard Muswell Hillbillies.

At least Liam has heard that album, specifically Here Come the People In Grey

I'm sorry. Where is a guitar solo in that? Towards the end. Don't expect a tradition guitar solo ala Live Forever. Like many others have said, commercials always use the best parts of songs. They wouldn't have left it out.

I can see the kids in the clubs liking this song, dancing away in their Superdry t-shirts and Henley jeans.

I really like what I've heard so far. More dancey than I was expecting but the piano stabs give it a really dark vibe. AND THANK GOD Noel didn't use that same beat from Falling Down on this.

It's obvious that Noel has an interest in more dancier tunes, from his work with Chemical Brothers, the remixes of DOYS songs, and the club music he used to listened to himself in the late 80s. It's quite Kasabian esque too, and we all know he's a big fan of them. So he's just trying it for himself now, and well done to him.
I think it's great that he's doing something a bit different but then again I don't think it's as huge a departure for him as some are making out. It's still a "Noel" song, unmistakable with it's melody, but just has a faster, more disco beat.
We'd all love another Definitely Maybe, but we know that's not gonna happen, as GDforever pointed out, we've got 4 albums worth of fantastic 90's style Noel writing. As long as he doesn't start rapping or doing dubstep, I have faith in him to still write great tunes that will appeal to Oasis fans generally speaking.
However, I advise people who are alienated by this tune to really steer clear of the AA album! (Which I think will be great, BTW, I like their stuff.)

We'd all love another Definitely Maybe, but we know that's not gonna happen DM is my favourite album up to this point in my life, but I don't want another one. I want an album exactly like the one he's about to release. It is shaping up to be different, but equally as epic as DM and WTSMG. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes my favourite album of all time.

It has that Kasabian vibe and a slight tinge of acid house. As Noel said, he was thinking of the Hacienda. I've had a few listens and I quie like it- I think a better quality version turned up to eleven with a drink or three will be really enjoyable. It's going someone cool at the end so hearing a full version should be great.
It has less of the obvious 'electronica' overtones of a track like Let Forever Be- one of my favourites. All the songs so far have a 'sheen' that make them suitably radio friendly.
