yeah this could send the NG fair-weather-fan-train one direction or the other.
I'm confident though that Noel wouldn't take chance like this if it wasn't solid.
Sure, he's made some iffy decisions in the past, but those were almost exclusively on very "Oasis-like" tunes. I don't think he'd look the same way at a song like this is proposed to be.
We'll see I guess.

Whatever happens this will shut up people that constantly go on about Noel's songs all sounding the same and being nothing new.

I'm very afraid of this song, I don't know why, but that "disco-vibe" description... Can't imgaine what it will be like at all tbf! I can already: Sequins, high collars, Liza Minnelli, Studio 54, plump thighs far legs, Pele grabbing arss, snorting coke before sucking some bird's arsshole.....A couple of images do pop up

Looking forward to it, I can't wait to hear what the whole "disco-vibe" thing is all about! Also, maybe we will find out what "AKA" finally means

If the song is "disco" then it is more of a pop/dance track a la Lady Caca, Beiber, etc. Those songs sell the shit out of digital charts. Millions even. If the tune is good, then it will do better than most of us anticipate. The average music listener will buy anything that is poppy or dance related. Thats whats in currently. Sad but true.
On another note, I think the chick from the TDOYAM video gets into the carriage and a disco breaks out. Should be amazing! And odd all at the same time. What is Noel doing to us lately?
I'm pumped. This means more music. I could care less how it is released.

As it stands we'll only have four completely new ones. Dream on, Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks, AKA... Broken Arrow, (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach. err no, we havent heard EOTR, Record Machine or Stop The Clocks yet.. forget about soundchecks and demos, they have been completely re-recorded into totally new tunes. we will have 7 new songs when the album drops.

I have to say, I'm really not buying this business about the album being ruined simply because we've heard most of the songs. Certainly, that may mean that the first listen isn't as exciting in that its not an album of fresh material, but in 6 months or a years time, when you come back to the record, will it really matter when you first heard the song? Very true.

My point is if the album is good, it will be good. It shouldn't matter when or in what form we hear it. When I return to MG or DM or BHN, it doesn't matter how many times I've heard the music before, as long as I give the music enough time between listens, because the songs are great. Keep in mind DM was well known in nearly its entirety through concerts before its release. Not saying this will be as good as those albums, but a man can dream! DM is a great example even aside from concerts, as prior to the release of it the following had been released: Shakermaker (single) Live Forever (single) Up In The Sky (acoustic version sang by Noel as a b-side to Live Forever) Columbia (demo released to radio and as b-side to Supersonic) Supersonic (single) Bring It On Down (live b-side to Shakermaker) Given that Cigs and Alcohol was released I think a week after the album that would have been released to radio before the album dropped. There was also the demo of it released to NME, I've no idea when that was so it could have been before for all I know. Basically people who had never been to a gig would have got four new songs, five if they bought the vinyl. And it's a masterpiece, in my top three albums ever by all artists (I don't have a #1 just three faves).

Everyone had heard virtually every track from the Arctic Monkey's and The Strokes' first album before it was released as well and that hasn't in any way affected both of their legacies as great albums.

You can judge an album better on first listen if you hear every song for the first time.

Have to say I'm quite excited by all this. Bit dissapointed that it's only a digital release but if IIHAG is not getting a UK release then surely it means there is a seperate third single for UK. All bodes quite well for the next album.

The big push for the album has to come with the end of september. Having listened three really strong songs so soon, something makes me think that there is gonna be another big single just before the album comes. Record Machine maybe?
