The Rifles are still too underrated IMO. Glad you liked them. and if you ever get a chance, go to see them. You won't regret.

IC1's The Computers Little Vegas Lies The Mexanines The Twlilight Sad The CribsThe Horrors The MoonsThe Simon Pollard Band Nice to know an another The Sad fan on here. I started to listen to The Cribs because my forever guitar hero joined the band. Saw them twice. "Ignore The Ignorant" was a really good album, but their another albums before Johnny joined the band are great too. I still love Bombay Bicycle Club's first album. It was a great album.

Donovan has some great albums, Barabajagal and A Gift From a Flower to a Garden are both brilliant psych/folk albums. Ryan Adams is a brilliant songwriter, Heartbreaker and Gold are good starts. Nick Drake too if you haven't listened to him yet, all three of his albums are essential.
Mew is a fantastic band, they call themselves "indie arena" rock, and they sound it! And The Glass Handed Kites is a fantastic album. Eleanor Friedberger put a great album this year called Last Summer, lots of 70s pop vibes in it! Her normal band, The Fiery Furnaces, are really great but a bit out there for some! Somewhat divisive music and their albums always fluctuate in quality. I'm Going Away is a good starting place for them.
Also, The Cure are always a great band to listen to during Fall. I know a lot of people know of them, but most people I've met have only listened to the greatest hits! Their frist three albums are good stuff.

You can find Straw's "Shoplifting" CD on Amazon pretty cheap. It's quirky, catchy Britpop. They also made a second album that leaked on the internet called "Keepsakes," but it was never made commercially available because the band disbanded before its release. They did have a couple of singles from it released beforehand - "Watching You Sleep" and "Sailing Off The Edge Of The World." I really love "Keepsakes," as well...reminds me of a mid to late 60s Kinks album - grab a beer and give it a listen while laying outside on your hammock one hot summer afternoon.
