"I'm a guitarist, not a bassist." Will he quit BDI?

Wow, it does seem so. I wouldn't mind, since I think he has great potential with 'The Black Marquee', and Beady Eye can find a new bass player.

He must have been responding to something. I don't think it mean anything at the minute.
He was never a member of BDI and I don't think he ever will be. I think when they go back into the studio he won't go with them since I think between Gem and Andy they can do all the basslines in studio themselves. I think he'll go on and do the next thing. And when the next album comes out I wouldn't be surprised if he was busy and they got someone new.
No big deal. He was just a session musician for tour.

He's just a bass session musician for Beady Eye. He's a guitar player first and foremost. Like Andy Bell was a guitarist before joining Oasis.
Jeff's a damn fine guitarist too. He's been going into his own personal studio at every opportunity while he's been in Beady Eye doing his own stuff.

Have the Black Marquee got any tracks available to listen to yet? Couldn't find anything last time I checked...

i wouldn't mind him leaving, i wouldn't mind him staying either, he's not an important member of Beady Eye, just a touring musician who can be easily replaced (by someone better looking )

Cheers, really enjoyed that That track was actually written (and sung, I believe) by a member of the band that has since left.

Point is correct, but probably the worst possible example to pick - there's maybe 2 notes of his own playing on Never Mind The Bollocks and they hardly ever used to bother plugging his bass in when performing live. John Entwistle is probably the direction you should be going in.

Does it really matter? Not really. I can tach my little boy how to play BDI bass lines. They can replace him easily with any stiff off the street.

I just picked Sid Vicious to try and show the stupidity in lgfaver's argument - I could have picked a dozen other artists, but didn't think it through properly. Nevertheless, it was a ridiculous comment by the lgfaver, who, judging from his illogical posts, seems to be getting as high as his rocketing karma.

I wish they'd chosen someone more outspoken, a real character. I won't be disappointed if he leaves the band.
